Thinking of buying a used Hyundai i20?

The style of the car

The Hyundai i20 is a five-door hatchback that looks fantastic with a sharp, modern design. There’s an i20 to suit everyone and with lots of equipment as standard it’s excellent value for money.

How it drives

There are four petrol engines to choose from and they’re all as brilliant, comfortable and responsive on the motorway as they are driving through the city. The i20 is a really easy car to drive with a sense of fun. Its small size means parking is effortless so you’ll be able to nip into spaces much larger cars couldn’t manage.

The interior

The i20 is compact on the outside yet inside it feels like it has lots of room. You can fit three adults across the back seats, something which is rare for a car this small. The boot is big enough for two large suitcases and a couple of squashy weekend bags. All cars have plenty of equipment as standard such as Bluetooth connectivity and digital radio, with the more expensive versions adding navigation.

Running costs and reliability

The Hyundai i20 sits at the more affordable end of the small car market and is excellent value for money. It depreciates quite heavily from new, so used cars are a bargain. Add in low tax, insurance and maintenance costs and the i20 is a buyer’s dream. Hyundai has an excellent reputation for reliability and the i20 is one of its most dependable models. The i20 also has the full five stars in the Euro NCAP safety tests.

How it compares with similar cars

The i20 is about the same size as the Ford Fiesta and the Volkswagen Polo, but the i20 offers much more space and equipment and costs less to buy. The i20’s qualities have been recognised with several awards from the likes of The Telegraph.
