Do not buy anything from this garage. My son bought a Cat N Peugeot 208 from them in October. He's since had to replace the alternator, fan belt and clutch cylinder. I had the work done elsewhere as I don't trust the garage EKS uses. They refuse to reimburse my son as the 3 month warranty is up (by 5 days) and apparently the issues are now considered fair wear and tear. Will be reporting them for unfair practices.
No, no and no I will not be giving you a \xa3300 none refundable deposit to reserve a Cat S car, or any other car. I phoned this garage about a vehicle and was asked to pay a \xa3300 “non refundable” deposit before I had even viewed the car. I was explicitly told that if I came to see it and decided I did not like it, I would lose the deposit. No written terms, invoice, or pre contract information were provided, and nothing was offered in writing to confirm what I was supposedly agreeing to. When I challenged them they cut the conversation short saying "we'll see you tomorrow", and ending the call. Because the payment was requested during a phone call, I believe this is a distance contract situation and the Consumer Contracts Regulations require key information (including cancellation rights) and confirmation of the contract on a durable medium. None of that was offered. I also believe a blanket “non refundable deposit” taken before viewing, with no written terms and no link to any genuine loss, is likely to be an unfair term. Government and CMA guidance indicates non refundable deposits should be a small percentage and cancellation charges should reflect a genuine estimate of direct loss. I chose not to proceed and I would advise others to be very cautious and get all terms in writing before paying anything.
Please do not buy from here. My daughter bought a Peugeot 208 4 months ago, she started needing to put oil in almost daily as her oil light continously came up. Took it to our local trusted garage to investigate, they basically said the car needed a new engine. My daughter took the car to we buy any car to sell to them to atleast gain some of her money back and was informed that the car had been written off previously and this garage had repaired and sold on without making my daughter aware. This meant her insurance was also invalid. She had been driving around for four months in a death trap. It seems I'm not the first person to say this reading through these reviews. Make sure you do your checks. They are putting people's lives at risk. On a separate note, we buy any car were great and gave her a good price for it considering the findings. So my advice is, if you're in the same situation, go to them to atleast get some of your money back.
Bought a fiesta off them in April, same week I had a sensor issue and had to have to brought in which they fixed which was within my 3 month warranty. Since then there's just been problems. Battery warning issue which luckily turned out to be nothing. I've had to get my water pump replaced which meant also replacing cam belt and auxiliary belt as well as the coolant reservoir.
