I recently had an issue with an oil service carried out by Arnold Clark. Unfortunately they left the oil cap off. Causing oil to be lost and potential damage to the engine. It then required several weeks of emails and follow-ups to get it partially resolved. While the company initially offered to inspect it and clean the engine bay. I felt that after spending out on the service and another £25 on oil to top it up, they need to pay me back. They eventually paid £150 compensation. Tho they didn’t offer the two things in conjunction, which is what I asked for. It also felt like this was done reluctantly rather than as part of good customer service. I have since sold the car. As I got no back up from them with regard to any damage their mistake had caused. Mistakes can happen in any business, but how they are handled matters. Unfortunately communication and ownership of the issue were extremely poor. I hope this feedback encourages improvements so future customers don’t have the same experience.
