Arnold Clark Click & Collect Bristol
Purchased a car recently from Arnold Clark and had the best experience dealing with Megan. She went out of her way to make sure every detail was covered. The car was presented in fantastic condition and nothing was too much trouble for her. Megan is definitely a asset to Arnold Clark. If only all car sales representatives were as good as her.
I have known about Arnold Clark for over 35 years but not bought from them as I have previously chosen whichever brand of car’s main dealer. However, now that I’m retired I was looking to rationalise my motoring costs and knew the Arnold Clark would have possibly the widest range of choice. Whilst this is definitely the case, I had already decided budget (£10K) and style of car (small SUV) as I needed hip level entry, or thereabouts. Petrol, and automatic. I’d done the usual homework of reading reviews and was thinking T-Roc, T-Cross, Kamiq, Puma etc. On visiting the Wakefield branch, there was nothing immediately in my shortlist and budget. However, the salesperson suggested I try a Kia Niro. I test drove it and liked the way it drove and the level of spec for the age and price (coming from a 2019 BMW X1 2.0 Sport) I didn’t like the plain white colour or the plastic wheel trims, one of which was damaged. It was also £2K over budget. The salesperson looked at group stock and found one in a nicer colour and same spec but another thousand pounds over the white one. I took it on trust (stupid I now realise) that it would be in at least as good a condition as the one driven. We came to an agreed deal (I wasn’t going to Part-Ex mine initially and had a good reserve offered by Carwow) and, to be fair, there was no pressure etc to buy. Yes, I should have gone over the car with a fine tooth comb, but again that trust in the brand thing, and drove it home. No problems with the car mechanically or driving, but looking where I could mount my dashcam, put all my bits and pieces etc I noticed the car is actually quite tatty. Scratches, chips, inside the boot/loadspace marked as clearly done plenty of tip runs or something with sharp objects and so on. Again, to be fair, they have attempted to buff out some of the scratches, and I never imagined a car of this age and mileage would be perfect but I feel £12.5K should look and feel better. I know I have a cooling off period but in order to use that, my Experience credit rating is already affected and it would likely prejudice a new lender. The cash back has been delayed due to retention of a private plate/Toyota Finance not paying Arnold Clark, and I run the risk of losing my plate if DVLA don’t process the retention quickly (first time in 10 years I’ve not been able to do it online, on the day. Due to a previous owner of the X1 letting UK tax lapse - be aware of this as DVLA will punish you for any previous owner in the last 5 years, even if, like me, you have always paid road tax). I must credit the staff at the branch by doing what they could within Arnold Clark’s rules and procedures by the way. Every one of them I’ve interacted with has been very pleasant. All that said and end to end, not the experience I was expecting from using a well respected and trusted brand like Arnold Clark.
Mercedes Benz Aberdeen have had my car for 23 days (and counting) for a warranty repair and we still have no confirmation that it's even being repaired!! Every time I call (which I need to do as the garage rarely phone with updates) I am told they expect the warranty to be approved within the next 1-2 days, that was 21 days ago and still nothing. I was finally given a curtesy car on day 17... Mercedes Benz are blaming the warranty provider, the warranty provider are blaming Mercedes Benz and i'm stuck in the middle without my car. I've now been told to expect this take at least another 5 working days to be approved and then a subsequent few days to repair meaning they will have had my car for over a month... Absolute disgrace at the lack of progress and the overall lack of care about the situation they are putting me in. Do not buy an AMG through mercedes under the false pretense that this is a superb warranty . . . it's not!!
Charged me extra not happy. I have been using them Arnold clark for sometime and I used to recomment to friends. But recently i got a parking ticket when i travelled to Oxford and noticed apart from the £35 the council charged , Arnold clark charged me extra £29.17 and this is for 2 days when i travelled around oxford. so total i paid around £140 including their Vat. I think usually if you have parking ticket it will come only around £70 , but their admin charge and vat made me to pay double. When i called the customer care they were rude and was not ready to listern to me. I was surprised as when we were taking the car they were so helpful. Really will not recomment anymore to friends.
Lee Rustige was very helpful throughout the whole process. Getting the finance approved was harder than expected, but he handled everything really well and did his best to help me get the car. He was patient, professional, and kept me updated the whole time. Really happy with the service and my new car. Would definitely recommend whoever is buying a car from Arnold Clark.
I went to see a Hyundai Kona in Arnold Clark East Kilbride Vauxhall from their website and we were approached by John who said it wasn't currently on their site but at another site...he said he could bring it here in 5 mins if I didn't mind waiting, once he came back I had a look around the car, it hadn't been valeted (but would be done if I went ahead ) and then I noticed some damage to rear door and inside sill, even John was taken aback but said it will be fixed before collection and tbh I can't fault John as true to his word all cleaned and door/sill fully repaired, all paperwork completed and picked car up Saturday 23rd May....from start to finish I can only say I enjoyed the process especially as I'm in sales myself
