Used Jaguar XE R-Sport cars

The Jaguar XE R-Sport offers a sporty-looking twist on the XE saloon car. You can easily spot an R-Sport by its deeper front bumper, rear spoiler and bigger 18-inch wheels. The trim level is available with petrol or diesel engines, manual or automatic gearboxes and rear- or four-wheel drive. R-Sport models were available new from 2015 to 2019. When Jaguar updated the XE in 2019, R-Sport trim was replaced by R-Dynamic trim.

The XE is the smallest saloon car Jaguar currently makes. We say ‘smallest’, but it’s a relatively large car, similar in size to the Audi A4 or the BMW 3 Series. Sold new since 2015, the XE had a major update in 2019 that included new lights and bumpers on the outside and a new dashboard inside. The selection of trim levels was rejigged at the same time and R-Sport was dropped from the line-up. The XE isn’t the most practical car of its type but it’s comfortable, well-equipped and can be a lot of fun to drive. 

Jaguar has used the letter ‘R’ to denote its fastest high-performance cars for many years. The R-Sport trim level, introduced in 2015, combines the sporty styling of those high-performance cars with the ‘regular’ petrol and diesel engines available with any other trim level. So you get the looks of a high-performance car without the high running costs of a very powerful engine. 

 From 2015 to 2019, the XE’s trim levels were organised in two strands: sport and luxury. The sport options were R-Sport and S; the luxury options were SE, Prestige and Portfolio. 

You can easily spot an XE R-Sport by its sporty styling details. Those include a deeper front bumper and side skirts (the panels below the doors), and a small spoiler on the boot lid. It also has bigger (18-inch) alloy wheels with a five-spoke design and a lowered sports suspension. R-Sport badges sit just behind the front wheels and gloss-black window surrounds complete the outside. Inside, you’ll find sports seats upholstered in two-tone leather, black ceiling lining and R-Sport badges on the steering wheel and door sills. Sat nav, climate control, cruise control and heated front seats are included as standard.
