Used Ford Kuga ST-Line cars

ST-Line is a popular trim level for the Ford Kuga that gives you a sportier look than the lower-cost models but no increase in running costs. 

You can spot an ST-Line model by its deeper bumpers, large rear spoiler and bigger wheels. Some models have extra terms in their name – ST-Line Edition, ST-Line X, etc. Those tell you that the car has a package of additional features included as standard such as heated seats or an opening panoramic roof. 

The Kuga is Ford’s mid-size SUV – a rival for cars such as the Nissan Qashqai and Volkswagen Tiguan. The first-generation Kuga was introduced in 2008 and the second-generation version went on sale in 2012. The latest (third-generation) Kuga was introduced in 2020 and is currently the largest SUV that Ford sells in the UK. More popular than ever, it was the ninth best-selling car in the UK in 2022. 

ST stands for sport technologies. Ford started selling high-performance ST versions of the Mondeo, Focus and Fiesta in the mid-1990s. They proved hugely popular yet some people like the look of a high-performance car but don’t necessarily want the higher running costs that go with it. So Ford responded in 2016 by introducing the Kuga ST-Line, a trim level with the looks of a high-performance car but with the lower running costs of ‘regular’ engines.

ST-Line is near the top of the Kuga range, above Zetec and Titanium but below Vignale. On top of the sporty styling, you get loads of features included as standard.

The main difference between ST-Line and other Kuga trim levels is the package of sporty styling details. Those include deeper front and rear bumpers, a different front grille with a sort of ‘wave’ pattern, bigger wheels ,a large rear spoiler and ST-Line badges just ahead of the door mirrors. Inside, you’ll find a flat-bottomed steering wheel, a metal gear lever and pedals, sports seats and what Ford calls Sensico artificial leather upholstery.
