Used Ford Fiesta Zetec cars

Zetec is one of the most popular trim levels for the ultra-popular Ford Fiesta small hatchback. Fiesta Zetec models were sold from the late 1990s until early 2022, when Zetec trim level was replaced by Trend. Zetec is a mid-level trim that gives you a good standard of features at a relatively affordable price, making this one of the best Fiesta models you can buy.

The Fiesta is a small hatchback that is the UK’s best-selling car of all time. The current, seventh-generation Fiesta has been sold since 2017 and it was updated in 2022 with fresh styling details (most notably a new front grille and headlights) and upgraded tech. The Fiesta is currently the smallest Ford car available in the UK, although the smaller Ka hatchback has been available in the past.

The Zetec name was first used for a group of brand-new, high-tech petrol engines that were fitted to Ford’s cars from 1993 and are still used today in some models. The Zetec trim level was introduced when the first-generation Ford Focus was launched in 1998. It was essentially the mid-range model with sporty-looking alloy wheels, jazzy seat upholstery and silver-coloured dashboard trim. Within a few years, every Ford car including the Fiesta was available with a Zetec trim level similar in look and feel to the Focus Zetec. 

For most of its history, Zetec was the mid-range trim level in the Fiesta line-up. However, it has also been the entry-point level at various times. Not because Ford reduced the standard features it came with, but because consumer tastes changed and people started buying  top-of-the-range models in greater numbers, so Ford stopped selling the trim levels below Zetec. 

The Zetec has always been the most affordable Fiesta fitted with standard alloy wheels, which gives it a smarter, sportier look than those that come with plastic wheel trims. The theme continues inside with silver-coloured trim on the dashboard. For many years, it was also the most affordable Fiesta with standard air con. The most recent Fiesta Zetec, sold in early 2022, has a touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, air con and cruise control.
