Vertu Volkswagen Lincoln
Outer Circle Road, Lincoln, LN2 3HX
Vertu Volkswagen Lincoln were great because Dan accompanied me on my test drive. He knew I was a little nervous before setting off, but he put me at ease and I felt comfortable driving the car by the time we got back to the garage. He was professional and friendly but not pushy trying to make me buy extras that I didn’t need or want.
My experience at Vertu Volkswagen Lincoln could have been better because it was far less professional than other dealerships that I have dealt with in the past. I had to chase the salesman to agree a price for the car I wanted to trade in. Only when the sales manager got involved did the transaction progress. When I arrived to collect the car, not having seen it, there were various items that were not standard spec which had not been flagged to me eg rubber floor mats and a tow bar. The parcel shelf was missing completely though one was found in another stock vehicle. I very much resent the fact that I am driving my new car with the mats from my old car because that is a marginally better option than the rubber ones that were in the car. There was no fuel in the car, the agent had to take it away to put fuel in which, given I had driven for three hours and had a three hour return journey ahead was a frustrating waste of my time. The agent who did all the paperwork was helpful but clearly hadn't seen the car and knew nothing about the sale until he was asked to fill in the forms. The car I bought is described by VW as a luxury SUV and, even used, is at the upper end of VW pricing. Given the poor preparation of the vehicle and absence of even basic theatre in the sale process I may as well have been buying a Ford Fiesta.
I would not recommend Vertu Volkswagen Lincoln because I was miss-sold the car AP25CSO, because when I was viewing the car I was told that as a Match model it did NOT come with SatNav, I said that I would purchase the car if the garage added satnav to the vehicle and the sales person AGREED, when I picked up the vehicle the satnav was still not on the vehicle, so the person who oversaw the handover told me to download the satnav and send in the receipt which I duly did. I have sent in a number of emails and as yet I have still NOT been reimbursed. This is why I would NOT recommend Vertu Volkswagen to a friend.
I'd recommend Vertu Volkswagen Lincoln to a friend because we were well received on our first visit by Christian and Molly. A test drive was quickly arranged and we reserved the car. We picked up the car at the appointed time and received a detailed demonstration of the controls. We are delighted with the car. The only problem concerns the lack of a second key. We were told that this was missing on 15th January when we collected the car and, despite a number of promptings, we still do not have this key. Indeed we returned to the dealership again today (12th February) to complain. We were again impressed by the responsibility that Christian took for the problem, his ordering/re-ordering of the key and the arrangement of a date (5th March) when the key will be available and programmed. We live in hope!
My experience at Vertu Volkswagen Lincoln could have been better because I had an issue with my newly purchased car’s infotainment system . The previous owner's details were still in as the main user and I couldn’t find out how to delete or change it. When I rang to get an explanation I was told the only solution was for me to make a 40 miles round trip so that they could do a factory reset and I would have to leave the car possibly for the whole day. I wasn’t happy about that, but accepted it would be the only solution. When my wife and I arrived at Vertu I saw that the person who had dealt with my purchase was in the showroom we explained the situation to her and she said she would see what she could do. A technician then took about 10 minutes to do the reset, so we could leave with the car. My argument is that Vertu should have done the reset as soon as we arrived without me having to put pressure on the salesperson. In fact it should have been done before we collected the car. It’s very poor after sales care when we had only had the car for two weeks when I rang to report the issue.
My experience at Vertu Volkswagen Lincoln was positive because the staff was all super friendly and helpful. We got to test drive the car straight away. They arranged for us to pick it up quite quickly after buying it. The deal itself was made to be quick and straight forward. No messing around. We appreciate all the support from the staff. Would recommend!
