Very disappointing experience with Arnold Clark Vauxhall Aberdeen. I received an initial valuation for my BMW and was clearly told the price would be valid for 1 week, so I booked an appointment based on that. On arrival, after inspection, the offer was reduced by £1,000. I was then asked to provide full service history as physical documents, even though BMW service records are stored digitally in the iDrive system. Ironically, I purchased the same car from Arnold Clark 4 years ago and was told at the time that the service history is stored in the vehicle itself. I was asked to return with documentation and rebooked for another appointment. When I returned with the requested service history, the offer was reduced again by a further £2,000, with Manager explanation that their system had updated the valuation and they could no longer honour the original price. despite previously stating the offer was valid for 1 week. Due to this and the handling by inexperienced staff, I was unable to proceed with the sale. The whole process felt misleading and a complete waste of time. Based on this experience, I would not recommend.
I purchased a vehicle on PCP finance from the Arnold Clark Stretford branch in November 2024 and experienced repeated injector-related issues shortly after purchasing. After requesting the service history, I discovered a report from August 2024, prior to the vehicle being supplied to me, showing that injectors 1, 2 and 3 had already been replaced and the 4th injector was found melted. This clearly indicates the vehicle had a pre-existing fault. Despite this evidence, the company concluded that the issues were “not related”. However, the car has been taken in three times within a year for injector failures, showing that these are clearly related and ongoing issues. I have now escalated the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Overall, the complaint handling and service at this branch did not meet my expectations.
Our car purchase experience with Arnold Clarke was good. Mak, the product consultant was just amazing and knowledgeable. He guided us throughout the process of giving car options, explaining its features, finance options, etc. He made the whole process seamless. Thank you.
