Absolutely shocking experience with Evans Halshaw. I purchased a vehicle from them and after just 3 months of ownership, having covered only a very small amount of mileage, the engine completely seized. A catastrophic engine failure of this nature should never occur so soon after purchase, especially from a major dealer that claims to carry out thorough vehicle inspections and checks. What has been even more disappointing is the way the matter has been handled. Rather than accepting responsibility and working towards a fair resolution, Evans Halshaw attempted to offer me just £500 towards the costs. Anyone with even basic knowledge of vehicle repairs knows that an engine replacement or rebuild can cost many thousands of pounds. The offer felt more like an attempt to make the problem go away than a genuine effort to resolve it. I purchased from a large dealership because I believed I would have greater protection and support if something went wrong. Unfortunately, when a major fault did occur, the support simply wasn’t there. I am now left dealing with significant inconvenience, financial loss, and the stress of fighting for a fair outcome when this situation should never have arisen in the first place. If you are considering buying a vehicle from Evans Halshaw, my advice is to think carefully about what may happen if a serious fault develops shortly after purchase. The true test of a dealership is not how they sell a car, but how they treat customers when something goes wrong. I will continue pursuing this matter until it is resolved properly and in line with their legal obligations.
Parts not available for repair despite over a weeks notice! Incorrect invoice provided! Received text with demand for payment a week after I had paid the invoice! Received E-mail saying the car was ready for collection a week after I had the car back! Received phone call from Evans Halshaw asking for payment followed by a phone call from Nick the service manager also asking for payment over a week after I had paid! All in all a terrible experience.
Took my car in for service they told me it needed a track rod end car had 4000 miles on it. Got it back went home doing 50mph got on my estate could hear lots of rattles on front wheels. Had a look on me drive and found both track rod ends lock nuts screwed wrong way so not securing steering at all very dangerous. They come collect it done the securing got it back steering still not straight come and collected again the rung and told me there tracking lift was broke so got it back next day another company had done the work so Evans Halshaw will never fix my car again. Also not one apology from them.
