Very questionable customer service. Sales person was annoyed that I am inspecting the vehicle which I was willing to spend money on, he either didn't know much about the car or deliberately avoided answering questions about faults and other concerns. I couldn't trust to go ahead with the purchase and I did genuinely like the car, just needed post-purchase guarantees.
Potential buyers: avoid this dealer WARNING: If you've bought from Car Market Yorkshire recently, get a full independent history check e.g. CarVertical ASAP – significant accident damage can exist without being an insurance write-off or showing on basic checks, potentially affecting value/safety and giving rights to remedies/refund under UK consumer law. I inquired about their 2015 Toyota Avensis 2.0 D-4D (reg YM15 DYW) listed at \xa35,995. The advert claimed "HPI is clear", "warranted miles with service history", "superb ownership proposition" that had been "cared for", with 2 owners from new, pan roof, sat nav, etc.—and no mention of any accident or damage at all. However, a CarVertical report later showed front-end damage recorded in February 2024 UK, with estimated repair costs \xa31,501–\xa33,000 (exterior body parts affected). Importantly, not every accident leads to an insurance write-off for example if repaired privately or costs were below the total-loss threshold, so this kind of history might not appear on a standard check—but it should still be disclosed if known, especially in a dealer advert. When I asked directly on the phone if the car had ever been in an accident, they said "no, we don't sell accident-damaged cars"—yet they currently have at least two Cat S structurally damaged/write-off category cars listed: Toyota Aygo (MK20DPU) and Citroen C1 (NL15CVH). This contradiction raises serious concerns about honesty. Communication and service were poor: Called Monday (after 10:30 opening); asked about service intervals—they said the car has full service (not in advert). Promised callback—none received. Called Tuesday 10:05; promised 10-min callback—took 90 mins. They repeated "full service" and claimed the cam belt had been changed (this 2015 2.0 diesel model uses a timing chain, not a belt—basic spec error). Asked service intervals a third time—they said they would have to check again and asked what I wanted to know. I arranged to view: They instructed me to text when setting off (2.5-hour public transport journey from earlier calls). I did, arrived at 2:01 pm—told the car sold "10 minutes ago". I'd spent nearly 6 hours traveling + over \xa370 on tickets/tram/train and vehicle check following their advice. They only suggested a deposit after I arrived (never mentioned in 3 calls). When I showed call logs and texts, they denied I'd spoken to their staff—apologized and offered other cars. I left feeling disrespected. This combination of non-disclosure, inaccurate info, contradictions, and wasting my time/money makes me question their practices overall. I've reported the issues (including the advert omission) to Trading Standards via Citizens Advice. Potential buyers: Always do thorough checks beyond the advert, ask direct questions in writing, and confirm availability before traveling. Update (9 March 2026): Dealer responded (visible below) acknowledging CarVertical but dismissed damage as "minor" — ignoring the \xa31,501–\xa33,000 front repair cost and why no damage history was disclosed in the advert. They denied any communication publicly. In person, when I arrived at 2:01 pm for the arranged viewing and reminded them I was on my way (after texting "setting off" as instructed), they said sold "10 min ago", then suggested deposit (never mentioned in 3 calls), then claimed no contact at all. When I showed call logs/texts, they immediately apologised and offered other cars. This contradiction raises serious concerns about honesty. Potential buyers: Strongly avoid this dealer — choose AA or RAC Approved dealers instead. Risks too high.

I had a really great experience with Company Car Market Yorkshire when buying my Audi A1. The whole process was smooth and stress-free, and the team were very professional and helpful throughout. Shabaz was a really nice man and made everything so easy. He was friendly, patient, and took the time to explain everything clearly without any pressure at all. He made me feel comfortable and confident with my purchase. The car was exactly as described and in excellent condition. Communication was great from start to finish, and everything was handled efficiently. I’m extremely happy with my Audi A1 and would definitely recommend Company Car Market Yorkshire to anyone looking for great service and trustworthy staff.
