I have used Arnold clark previously and never had any issues but on this occasion of buying my new car it’s been the most stressful experience Iv ever had when purchasing a car. I was told to collect my vehicle on the Tuesday and on arrival was told I can’t take the car after travelling 40 minutes to get there and after insuring the new car which caused me issues when trying to then convert the insurance back to my old car. When I finally collected the car on the Wednesday on arrival it had issues with the front camera not working and damage to the osf wheel and OSR bumper which I requested was to be fixed on the Tuesday and still wasn’t done on the day of collection. I am still awaiting for somebody to contact me about fixing the wheel and the bumper damage and it’s also had to go into Nissan under warranty for the camera issue which should of been picked up when it was checked over and first brought into Arnold clark. The tracking on my new vehicle was pulling really bad which I again wasn’t happy about My mom also put a deposit down on a car the same day and requested a refund which she has now been told hasn’t been processed 2 weeks later.
My better half decided to have a new, used, car again from Arnold Clark . Was informed that 1 key present & the other would be sent by registered Mail. Ok I thought & enquired when would it be here with the answer of only acouple of days. One week later & various phone calls I am now informed it will take another week to ten days to arrive at the site. Poor communication with little customer regard to giving correct expectation of the other key hence even though I am a returning customer feel let down with this experience & my rating reflect this I am sorry to say.
I purchased a vehicle from Arnold Clark after being assured that it had been serviced prior to sale. Wanting peace of mind, I booked the car into Audi for an independent health check shortly after purchase. To my surprise, Audi identified several issues requiring attention, with estimated repair costs of around £980. One of the priority items highlighted was an oil change, which raised immediate concerns given that I had been told the vehicle had already been serviced. I would like to acknowledge that the sales team were professional, courteous and helpful throughout the purchasing process. Unfortunately, my experience after the sale was very different. After contacting Arnold Clark and raising my concerns, the vehicle was booked in and the issues were eventually rectified. However, it is important to note that these repairs were carried out under the warranty provided with the vehicle and were not a goodwill gesture. The process still required me to spend additional time arranging repairs and being without my vehicle for a full day, causing unnecessary inconvenience. My main complaint remains unresolved. Despite repeatedly raising the question of why an oil change was identified as necessary so soon after a supposedly completed service, Arnold Clark has not provided a satisfactory explanation and has simply maintained that the vehicle was serviced. I found the manager's response dismissive of my concerns and felt that he refused to take any responsibility for the shortcomings of his team or the inconvenience caused. As a goodwill gesture, I requested only a six-month extension to the warranty supplied with the vehicle. Given the circumstances, I felt this was a reasonable request. However, this was refused, leaving me with the impression that customer satisfaction and accountability were not being taken seriously. While I appreciate that the repairs were eventually carried out, the overall experience has left me disappointed. Customers should be able to rely on assurances given at the point of sale, and I do not feel that happened in my case. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Arnold Clark without reservation.
At least three apparent defects with the vehicle when I collected it. All the defects should have been found when the car was serviced and MOTd. Now without a car until it is repaired. I would add that without exception the staff have been excellent, very helpful and not pushy when it comes to selling add ones. I wasn't kept waiting and feel I was treated fairly. The selection of cars is huge. At this time I would buy from the company again. Let's see how the repairs go
