Arnold Clark Stirling Volvo / GWM / BYD
Kerse Road, Stirling, FK7 7LA
I had an excellent experience purchasing my car from Arnold Clark. The salesman (Davood ) in Wes Bromwich branch was professional, friendly, and extremely helpful throughout the whole process. He took the time to answer all my questions, explained everything clearly, and made the experience smooth and stress-free without any pressure. His customer service was outstanding from start to finish, and I would highly recommend both him and Arnold Clark to anyone looking to buy a car.
Found a car that I liked with them, there aren’t too many of the specific specification around so was excited to see the spec and colour was really happy. Spoke to the salesperson, asked questions about the condition of the car was told it was good. Sent me a video of the car, looked really good, couldn’t see any flaws or imperfections. Agreed on a price and decided to come and see it and hopefully take it home this weekend. Probably a bit naive on my part, I chose to travel up to get the car rather than pay the £200 to have it moved closer. Upon arrival I noticed a few light chips that I was not told about, though not a dealbreaker as nothing serious and could be fixed up with a touch up pen. However, on one of the doors and the boot, there were a number of chips that had become rusted. One of which, the paint had begun to come away from the door suggesting further issues. When I brought this up with the salesman (Martyn), I was told they had not noticed this at all which I really struggle to believe as they were not discreet. He then went and had a look, told me that “It is not rust, it is where the paint has begun to oxidise”. They also stated that this was normal for vehicles of this age (2019), I know of many cars older than this that do not have any rust. I was also told that both himself, his manager, and the area manager had all looked and agreed on this and that it could be fixed with a touch up pen. Their final offer was £100 off and a touch up pen to take it that day. I proposed they got it fixed and shipped down to me, or I took it away that day with the agreement that I would get it assessed by a body shop and they would pay for the repair seeing as they did not believe it was anything more sinister. They declined this and persisted it was not rust and the car was fine. I declined this and received some negative attitude before the salesman walked off just leaving me there. Very unhappy as had they disclosed this to me I would not have wasted time and money travelling to see the vehicle.
