My experience with Arnold Clark has been nothing short of appalling. I paid extra to extend the warranty on my car specifically to avoid situations like this. When warning lights appeared on my dashboard, I contacted Arnold Clark expecting support and reassurance. Instead, I was told I would have to wait over a week just for them to look at it. On top of that, I was warned that if they didn’t find a fault, I would be charged £75. The day of the appointment was chaotic. I was sent to three different locations before finally ending up at the correct one. The lack of organisation and communication was unbelievable. After hearing nothing all day, I finally managed to get through by phone around 4pm, only to be told that my car did have a fault but conveniently it wasn’t covered under the extended warranty I had paid extra for. So, what exactly do I pay for ? I was then told it would cost another £170 to repair the issue they found and that I would need to book the car in again on a different day. To make matters worse when I collected the car I was still charged the £75 diagnostic fee even though they did find a fault. I find this completely unjustified and frankly unacceptable. The whole experience has felt like a money making exercise rather than customer care. Long delays, poor organisation, unclear warranty coverage, unexpected charges, and zero accountability. I feel completely ripped off and misled. I would strongly advise others to think very carefully before paying for any extended warranty or booking work with Arnold Clark. Based on my experience, the service is disorganised, frustrating, and extremely disappointing.
Excellent service as always from pottery street Greenock Arnold Clark branch , all the guys are so helpful and never a bother about anything . John odonell sold me my car and the whole process was quick and easy well easy for me not him ,I had all sorts of keys to try . Had delivery of my new car within 24hrs everything spot on ! Can’t fault them at all and always buy my cars from this branch
Just purchased another vehicle from the Renault Arnold Clark in Wigan. As always a very good experience, the sales staff we have dealt with have been spot on. James was very good with us not pushy at all and very patient when we were deciding what way to go with the purchase. He gave us a variety of options which were very helpful. Will be back again.
Birtley branch are absolutely shocking, rude and unprofessional I can’t say a good word about them. From delays in delivery, no updates, received a text to say the car had been damaged and needed to be repaired. Sales representative gave me the keys and walked off, no chance of a test drive given incorrect information regarding products that I’ve purchased, the app has not been updated with those products and they have now lost my settlement figure for my previous car. Told that a gift that was ordered two weeks ago was now out of stock and that I could have a set of kids sun glasses instead, refused as have now small kids or grandchildren so was reluctantly given the water bottle. The car is just a shell even the wheel nuts that have been replaced with locking ones have been removed, there is quite a long list of the treatment we have received and I personally will not use this branch again.
I have given a 1* simply because, when someone is quick to take your refundable deposit, I expect them to be as quick refunding it as they are taking it. 18 days later and 2 phone calls later, I am still waiting for the the return of my money. They obviously, chose to keep it in there bank to earn interest. Not impressed at all. I will be calling in to the showroom and collecting it myself, if it is not in my account by tomorrow.
