Used Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line cars

The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line combines the sporty styling of Volkswagen’s fastest high-performance models with the lower running costs of the ‘regular’ engines. In the case of the Tiguan R-Line, it features bigger alloy wheels, deeper bumpers and a rear spoiler on the outside with sports seats and metal trim details on the inside. 

The Tiguan was the first mid-size SUV built by Volkswagen. Introduced in 2008, the Tiguan slotted into the range below the bigger, more luxurious Touareg. It was an instant hit, offering generous passenger space and practicality with the style of an SUV and the quality expected of a Volkswagen. The second-generation Tiguan went on sale in 2016. Volkswagen made it better in every area without changing the formula that made the original so successful. An updated version went on sale in 2020 – it has a different design for the headlights and bumpers and a dashboard with a more high-tech look.

In the early 2010s, Volkswagen added the R-Line model to many of its cars, including the Tiguan, offering buyers a style similar to its high-performance R models but without the running costs of a fast car. 

The R-Line model sits near the top of the Tiguan range. In first-generation Tiguan R-Lines, sold from 2012 to 2016, you get broadly the same features as standard that you would get with the SE model. In second-generation R-Lines, sold since 2016, you get most of the same features as the Elegance model. Either way, the R-Line is very well equipped. 

The main difference between the R-Line and the rest of the Tiguan range is its sportier styling. The bigger wheels and fractionally lower suspension also give a slightly firmer ride, so the car also feels a bit sportier to drive.
