Used Nissan Qashqai Tekna cars

The Nissan Qashqai Tekna is the top-of-the-range version of the hugely popular mid-size Qashqai SUV. Everything that’s great about Qashqai applies here: it’s conveniently compact yet practical; you get a great view out from the elevated seating position, it’s comfortable to travel in and cost-effective to own. To that, Tekna adds lots of features as standard, many of which you might expect to only find on proper luxury cars.

The Qashqai is Nissan’s mid-size SUV (although the company actually calls it a crossover) and it has been one of the best-selling cars in the UK in recent years. The first Qashqai went on sale in 2006, while an all-new version went on sale in 2014. The latest, third-generation model, was introduced in 2021.  

The word Tekna doesn’t mean anything in particular. Car manufacturers frequently invent new words to name their trim levels, even whole cars. Why? Partly so the name can be trademarked, but also so that it can be used across various markets and languages. Incidentally, Qashqai isn’t an invented word but is the name of a group of nomadic tribes from Iran.   

Tekna sits at the top of the Qashqai range. There are four ‘core’ trim levels to choose from: Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna. Other trim levels have come and gone, for instance N-Tec, which slotted into the gap between N-Connecta and Tekna. There are some variations on the trim levels, too, such as Acenta Premium and Tekna+, the additional terms tell you that the car comes with a package of extra features.

Being the top-of-the-range model, Qashqai Tekna comes with lots of features that aren’t fitted to other trim levels. The latest Qashqai Tekna models, for example, all have 19-inch alloy wheels, electrically adjustable heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, part-leather upholstery, an electrically powered boot lid, a wireless charging pad, a head-up display and a panoramic glass roof.

Go for the very-top-spec Tekna+ and you also get 20-inch wheels, massaging front seats, leather upholstery and a powerful Bose stereo for an extra touch of luxury.
