Thinking of buying a Citroen C3 Aircross?

The style of the car

The C3 Aircross is a compact SUV that really stands out from the crowd thanks to its quirky design and the option of some bold, bright exterior colour combinations. Its boxy shape helps to make the interior spacious for this type of car. It’s roomy and versatile enough for families.

How it drives

The C3 Aircross is comfortable to drive. The petrol and diesel engines are smooth and quiet, the suspension is soft, and the front seats are big and squashy.  Some rivals are more fun to drive, but the C3 Aircross’ upright seating position and good view out of what’s around you makes parking easier. Some models even have a reversing camera. There’s no four-wheel drive version available, but an optionalGrip Control feature helps to keep  the front wheels from spinning on slippery surfaces.

The interior

The five-door Citroen C3 Aircross is one of the most practical compact SUVs around. The big 410-litre boot is good for three medium suitcases and there’s a handy slot to store the load cover if you remove it. Each of the five seats has lots of legroom and headroom. The entry-level Feel model has air con and a lane departure warning system. The Flair model adds sat nav, rear parking sensors and a reversing camera. Flair also lets you slide the back seats forward and lower the boot floor to prioritise luggage space.

Running costs and reliability

The Citroen C3 Aircross represents great value for money, particularly because it offers lots of equipment as standard. Thanks to fuel-efficient engines, the C3 Aircross is cost-efficient to run, and low CO2 emissions mean low vehicle tax, too. The C3 Aircross also offers levels of reliability similar to its rivals’, and a full five-star safety rating from the Euro NCAP programme.

How it compares to similar cars

The Citroen C3 Aircross is based on the similar-size Citroen C3 hatchback, but it’s more spacious and sits higher off the ground to give it an SUV feel. Although roomy, the C3 Aircross is significantly smaller than the C5 Aircross SUV, making it more of a rival for the SEAT Arona and Kia Stonic. It’s more comfortable and relaxing to drive than the SEAT (but not as much fun), and roomier than the Kia.
