I hired a van and while the vehicle itself was good, the customer service was extremely disappointing! On returning the van, I was suddenly told I had exceeded a mileage limit, a limit that was never mentioned to me at the time of collection. When I challenged this, the staff member claimed the paperwork I signed was “for speeding and parking”, not mileage, which made no sense. When I asked why the mileage limit wasn’t explained, he made a sarcastic remark about not really caring. I had clearly told them I was planning to drive to Somerset and back, yet at no point did anyone think to mention there would be an additional charge for mileage. It felt like I was deliberately set up to incur a fee. Because of the lack of transparency and the contradictory explanations, I have reported the charge to my credit card provider for investigation. Good van, but the behaviour of the staff and the hidden charges mean I wouldn’t recommend them.
From the outset, Traci ensured I received the exact service needed and demonstrated an outstanding commitment to maintaining a safe environment for both employees and customers. Her thoughtful participation in discussions and proactive approach to problem-solving added real value. She was professional, attentive, and clearly focused on continuous improvement. This visit was extremely positive and serves as a great example of the organisation’s commitment to first-class customer service. Thank you for such a professional experience.
All of the staff we delt with whilst hiring the van for the day were extremely approachable, polite and great chat. Couldnt recommended them enough, shame the main two I delt with are retiring soon, but im sure they're all like this. Know I will happily resume their services in the near future. Appreciate everything \U0001f64f …
We hired a 7.5t van from Longmarsh in early 2025 and unfortunately, were involved in a collision where the other party was clearly at fault. Longmarsh have since received payment from the other driver’s insurance company, yet they are still withholding our \xa3500 deposit. We have contacted them several times by both email and telephone. When we eventually spoke to the branch manager, he became extremely aggressive and ended the call after refusing to discuss the matter any further. For what was already a stressful situation, Longmarsh have been nothing but unprofessional and are continuing to withhold money that should have been refunded. While other hire companies may sometimes be slightly more expensive, I would not hesitate to use them in future. I’ve never had this kind of issue with other well known vehicle rental companies. We are now having to begin court proceedings against Longmarsh to recover our “refundable deposit” which has proved far more difficult to get back than you would expect. Just something to bear in mind if you’re looking for a recommendation, I’d suggest going elsewhere.
Awful customer service and zero will for customer retention. Odometer upon rental collection 63359 miles, Return mileage 63369 miles, a Peugeot Expert Bluehdi Professional L2 - 2.0 Litre engine does 38.7 MPG which is 8.51 mile per litre of Diesel used. Just before returning the vehicle 6.5 Litres of Diesel were put into the vehicle and a receipt was shown to prove WELL OVER what was used was put back into the vehicle before returning it. They claimed it was short when if anything THEY OWE ME FUEL! They Do not answer questions, They charge for fuel when you fill up on your way back. Very pedantic. Avoid and use other friendly rental companies.
