When buying a second hand car and spending upwards of 30k I expect a certain level of service openness and most of all honesty. Adil Ahktar dealt with my initial enquiry about a Ford ranger raptor they had for sale at the Bury branch. We exchanged a few emails and he was helpful and came back to me with his best price fo the vehicle at around 11:30am on the 10/03/26 he said that was the best price and that there was another party interested so if a deal was to be completed the ball was in my court. I replied 30 minutes later and said yes I was happy with the price and we sorted a price of £99 to delivery it. I then emailed a few minutes later and explained I was heading into the labour ward as my wife was giving birth, I asked if it was ok to send a deposit later that day or the next morning and to pay the full balance on the Friday when my own car was collected by the buyer. I also asked how much deposit he would require. I received no reply from 12:30 Tuesday to 10am wed morning when Adil emailed me and told me the vehicle was reserved by another customer overnight. I explained how we in my opinion had a deal and he just told me as I hadn’t paid a deposit the management wouldn’t hold the vehicle. I did express my disappointment that I had told him I would pay one and asked how much and received zero response back. All I have had in response is that he will let me know if the other buyer pulls out,,, cheers,,,,, We had a deal on price a deal on delivery and I asked how and when the deposit was required and he has simply sold the vehicle to somebody else who I presume was buying the vehicle on finance and paying the full asking price. If a deal is agreed by a reputable trustworthy company you would expect it to be honoured. I got the feeling me saying I was in the labour ward and could send the deposit at his convenience was all the excuse needed to get a couple of extra quid for the vehicle. Pretty crappy customer service that and doesn’t inspire confidence in the dealership so I wouldn’t recommend. And before the usual response appears saying this isn’t how it happened I am happy to prove the email chain showing our agreement Avoid
One of the best car garages I’ve ever visited. The customer care from the staff here is top notch - they’re not overbearing and go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable. I cannot recommend Will Bingham enough - brilliant sales advisor and looked after myself, my wife and our dog, Monty, whilst we took a test drive and then bought a car here. This is the type of sales advisor you want more of in car sales: genuine, honest and informative. Already pushing family and friends to use this garage for future car purchases. Thank you!
Brought a used ford, and they sent me off with a nail in one of the tyres, which was then found to be barely above legal minimum. This despite knowing I had a significant journey home. The tyre pressure sensors were indicating a problem on test drive, and they were trying to get me to top up the air myself on the way home, and were very pushy about the tyre insurance 'just in case you get a puncture'. Obviously cannot prove that they knew about this, but the 140 point check should have shown this up, never mind that they had moved the car for me to test drive, and could see the warning light for themselves. I have received neither the promised refund from the dealership for the replacement tyre, nor have I heard anything back from evans halshaw customer service. Serves me right for thinking that a big brand would do right by their customers.
I purchased a £17000 10 month old ex demonstration model Citroen ec3 Max for my wife Margaret. At the viewing, the weather was terrible, so we were unable to give the body work a good look over, however as the car looked amazing, I went ahead with the purchase. Jordan, the sales executive, was great, he was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, he made the whole purchasing procedure so easy. All the team in the showroom were friendly and welcoming. When we picked the car up. Once again, the weather was lousy, heavy rain, so no problem could be seen with the body work. The hand over and pick up procedure went very smoothly, a big thanks to all the staff involved. A few days after we had the car and the weather had improved, we noticed quite a lot of scatches on the bonnet. I called back into the showroom, explained and showed them the scratches. I was informed that it was a second hand car and what would I like done about it. This comment did not go down too well with me. Hence the loss of one star. However all was solved amicably and the bonnet received a good buffing, eradicating the scratches. A further problem has occured with the boot release catch, this is being seen too professionally. Apart from that one comment, we are extremely satisfied with our dealings with this dealership.
