I recently purchased a car from Evans Halshaw Wolverhampton and even though I live over 100 miles away everything ran smoothly. I had several conversations with Liz who kept me posted with regards to the minor cosmetic repairs that needed carrying out prior to the car being 'customer ready'. I have used Evans Halshaw for three previous purchases and have always been happywith the service.
I am extremely disappointed with the service I received recently. I arrived at 9:00 am for a pre-booked service and MOT, having explained beforehand that I am a full-time caregiver for my wife and needed to wait with the vehicle. Despite my request for the car to be prioritized, it wasn't even taken into the garage until 12:45 pm. I ended up sitting in the showroom for over eight hours, finally leaving at 5:30 pm. I approached the desk several times, but the process was never expedited. If the garage was too busy to finish by midday, I should have been offered a different date or a courtesy car. Expecting a Motability customer to wait all day without support is unacceptable. I hope this dealership starts showing more respect for the time and responsibilities of their mobility customers by offering pick-up services or better scheduling. As a mobility customer and caregiver, the dealership have no process to help and provide a preference to disabled or a caregiver.
I normally have my car collected and returned due to being in constant pain and needing regular meds which then sometimes I cannot drive! My appointment was for 10.50am, arrived early and after seeing several cars coming and going I decided to ask how long my car would be? Was told she would check but never returned, so had to alternate between sitting, standing and walking around in agony for a couple of hours!
I bought a Ford C Max from Evans Halshaw in Wakefield. From paying to collecting was 3 weeks. When I received it they had spilled oil on the engine, making it smell awful while driving. There was an error light on the dash which they said they would take car when I brought it in for MOT 4 months later when it was due. However I pushed to do the MOT immediately while I had time. I had to bring the car back to 4 different times, to 2 different dealerships but they couldn't fix it. I left the car with them and got a rental car on January 12th and returned it this week, 3 months later, though my car was never fixed. No wonder they wanted to me wait before trying to fix it. They sold me a car that could not be MOTd. Since deciding the car could not be fixed, they demanded the rental car be returned but so far have not issued a refund, leaving me without a car or the money. Specific people to avoid there are Iain, who's a saleman, Daniel Cascarino who's the used car sales manager, and Darrell who is the service manager.
Unprofessional management Unprofessional and misleading. My Hyundai Ioniq had a broken dipstick. Evans Halshaw quoted ยฃ492.02. to strip the sump โ claiming major engine work. The mechanic privately admitted the only problem was the dipstick itself. No professional honesty or fair dealing. I fixed it myself easily and cheaply.
