Dear Sir, I have delayed writing this to ensure a clear and positive feedback on my visit today to your Citroen / Fiat site at Priory Park near Hull. I have found the other sites there to be helpful eg Kia from where I hire a Sportage. I had inquired previously about an appointment for servicing our Fiat 500 by phone. I was advised that an appointment was available this morning at 9:30 for a 2 hour wait. This I accepted and arrived on site at 9:20. This seemed fine although reception said they would seek to complete by noon. I assumed that they were covering the possibility of finding problems ( which they would advise me at the time as I waited). At 12:20 inquired about progress and given excuses, non of which related to the car( mileage of appro 2600 per year !!). By 12:30 I drove away with the service completed but not cleaned inside or outside since I was pushing to get away. I dont expect to be treated better than other customers. I had expected your showrooms to be warm but it was cold enough for my fingers to go numb. Please advise me why I should consider visiting the department , in any context in the future, when I consider that I was treated as a nuisance, rather that a customer. Recently had my car serviced at Evan Halshaw Hyundai Gateshead and I'm really pleased with the whole experience. The service representative was friendly and welcoming, making the drop-off process straightforward and stress-free. The workshop engineer did a great job with the walkaround video, covering all the essential items and giving me a clear picture of my car's condition. While my car was being serviced, I was provided with a brand new Hyundai Inster as a courtesy loan car, which was a fantastic touch and meant I wasn't left without transport for the day. The service report provided afterwards was very detailed and easy to follow, giving me a thorough understanding of the state of my vehicle. Overall, a really positive experience from start to finish. I'll definitely be booking my next service here. Highly recommended!
I purchased a Porsche Macan online from Evans Halshaw BYD Chesterfield and was explicitly assured the vehicle was in excellent condition. This was completely untrue. After driving 2.5 hours to collect it, I was presented with a car that had a cracked windscreen, dangerous tyre sidewall damage, scratches, stone chips, and multiple undisclosed faults. The experience only got worse from there. Communication was consistently poor—calls ignored, no callbacks, and contradictory information throughout. At one point I was even sent an email confirming I had rejected the vehicle, which was entirely false and later dismissed as an “error.” Management made repeated promises to resolve the issues, all of which were either delayed, mishandled, or not carried out at all. Even after being told repairs were completed and personally checked, it was clear that agreed work had not been done. This was not just poor service—it was misleading, disorganised, and completely lacking in accountability. I have zero confidence in anything this dealership says. If you value transparency, honesty, and basic customer service, go elsewhere.
My experience with Evans Halshaw Ford (Glasgow Transit Centre – Provan Road) has been extremely poor, dealing directly with Service Manager Paul Welsh, with Dealer Principal Brian Gallacher copied into all communication and choosing not to engage. I was initially charged around £180 for diagnostics and told the battery had failed. Based on this, I spent a further ~£180 replacing it. The fault remained immediately after — meaning the diagnosis was wrong. I then returned the vehicle and was charged another £648 for diagnostics. Again, no fault was identified. The report states the Body Control Module (BCM) was “removed and inspected for water ingress.” After collecting the van, I checked it myself and found clear corrosion within the BCM. Since then, I have asked one simple question repeatedly: Was the BCM actually removed from the vehicle as stated on the report? This has been consistently avoided. On a recorded phone call (which they were aware of), I was told: 👉 “Removed doesn’t mean removed from the vehicle – it just means taking the bolt out.” That speaks for itself. I have now spent around £1000 based on incorrect diagnosis and unclear work, and the only offer made is a 15% goodwill gesture, which does not come close to addressing the situation. The most concerning part is not just the cost — it’s the lack of transparency and the refusal to clearly confirm what work was actually carried out despite being asked multiple times. I would strongly advise anyone using this dealership to question everything and get full clarity in writing before agreeing to any work.
Two year service for my Corsa 75. Staff were friendly and helpful which made the whole process painless. The water cooler, free coffee machine and TV were welcome additions. The seating area was quiet and comfy and I passed my time reading my book (on Kindle) and using my phone via the free WIFI. The report of service was comprehensive and easily understood. Great outcome.
(Doncaster Branch) Without a doubt the most stressful experience buying a car we've ever had. Sales rep was extremely pushy, would not take no for an answer when trying to explain we do not want the addons - I understand that they are wanting to earn some commission, but this sales rep even tried to convince us to take finance we don't need when we made it clear we just wanted to buy a car. Asking for addons once or twice I can understand/forgive, but after being badgered 7+ times it becomes annoying and frustrating. Also poor attitude as this rep would frequently leave the desk for long periods, sometimes slamming laptop closed when doing so, the rep seemed irritated and annoyed with us just because we did not want to take any addons. Two stars as the car (so far) seems fine and we have always been a fan of Citroen's cars. Our experience this time however would not make us eager to return to this dealer.
