DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. HILUX SOLD WITH SEVERE MECHANICAL FAULTS AND CHASSIS RECALLED. We purchased a Toyota Hilux from Clitheroe Cars on October 4th 2025, and by October 6th the truck failed with severe mechanical faults. The offside drive shaft was split, the power steering on the vehicle was faulty (blown pipe), and Clitheroe Cars made inadequate repairs to the truck (welded the chassis and covered up rust with wax) that are so unsafe that the Hilux has been recalled by Toyota, requiring a full chassis change. When I made Clitheroe aware of the damage, they told me to go to \u2018any VAT registered garage\u2019 to get it repaired, and they would cover all of my out of pocket costs. However, after I had the vehicle repaired, they withdrew their offer and refused to pay. They are now being investigated for their conduct. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
We bought a 2018 Toyota Hilux from these guys on 4/10/25 and paid \xa320,000 for the vehicle. Since then, the car has had multiple faults. We have had to replace the transfer shift actuator sensor, the off side drive shaft was completely cracked and needed to be replaced. Despite apparent checks, we also have a tire that needs replacing and an advisory on our break discs which will need to be replaced soon. The Hilux is back in the garage now as the power steering is failed and we are in need of a new pump. The warranty provided by clitheroe cars does not cover all these costs, and despite being over \xa31000 out of pocket, they\u2019ve only offered to cover \xa3250 of our costs. We were told upon collection that the car was in perfect condition but now we\u2019re unable to drive it for work until the repairs have been made. I\u2019ve attached photos of the diagnostic report we had done less than 2 weeks after picking up the Hilux to evidence the above.
