Having brought from here twice before without issues we were excited to stop here once again to look for our next car. Im not sure what happened when they moved from their old site by the prison to their new one, i think customer service was left behind locked in a filing cabinet. When we arrived on site their were not staff visible so we started to browse. During the 40 minutes we were browsing not a single member of staff approached us to offer and help. We did find a car we wanted to test drive. We then had to hunt down a member of staff to help. This is when they really started to add to the hole they were already digging for themselves. We were asked about the car we were replacing and the immediate response was "Oh no, we dont take cars THAT old" Which is a good thing really as were weren't looking to get rid of it. As soon as the staff found out what car we wanted to test drive the customer service utterly failed when it became obvious we were looking at the lower end of the market cost wise. When the car was dug out of the line up we eventually got to drive it. As soon as we got in we were assisted by the smell of very old cigarette smoke. My husband drove around the corner and it became immediately obvious that this was not the car for us for various reasons. Not wanting to waste any bodies time we returned to the garage and parked it in the spot we had got in it from. Instantly we had a sales person come out and start gesticulating to us to move the car. We were distracted to park it as far away from the sales office as possible which we did. We popped into the office to drop off the keys and say that sadly it wasn't for us, but we were open to discussing what else they had. We were instructed to take a seat as we HAD to speak to a sales associate before leaving. We set off the take a seat when my husband was told it might be a while. Looking out of the window we could see a few people who had arrived after us who were asking about high end cars with several more digits on the price tag. It was the we understood. We weren't good enough for a car garage that had been the epitome of customer service excellence before who had now decided that their target market was those that could earn them a good commission figure. We were looking to buy outright, cash on the spot today. We might not be posh but is our money not good enough anymore.
DO NOT USE CARWORLD When arriving at the dealership was greeted by the sound of someone angrily telling everyone not to buy from them, in retrospect I should have listened. We spoke to Shakeel one of the sales team who seemed to explain everything and was honest enough to say any garage is only prepping the car to last 3 months while it is under the initial warranty. we were shown one of the cars we had seen on the website however throughout the viewing we were constantly show cars above our budget. Eventually we took a Vauxhall Crossland X for a test drive and it was ok, slightly pulls to the right and the aircon fan was squeaking. Discussed further and it was agreed these would be fixed. We paid and got the car the next day, following this, as a precaution, had we had a professional mechanic check the car over. At this point I was horrified, the head gasket was marked as being in imminent failure, oil leaking into the coolant system and a few other error codes. We took it back that evening at 17:15 where I then spoke to someone called Mason, who flatly said they "don't deal with it" and I would have to speak to after sales. when asked how I do so as I have never bought from a dealership before he just shrugged and said to call. I tried this when I was there and there is no after sales at their call centre, at which point I asked to speak to a manager which I was told there isn't one. I asked for Mason to speak to his manager on the phone and was refused, I asked a few times and he said he would check at which point he took out his personal phone and went in the back to make a call. This went on for 45 minutes until a manager by the name of Stuart appeared from out the back office, only because he had heard me shouting. After a further explanation and trying to assert my customer rights of short term return that is allowed within 14 days. I was eventually told how to contact aftersales which had shut. Went the next morning at their open. Had an acquaintance on the phone for support who had retired from car dealerships but had managed and owned them in the past. I spoke to someone in the after sales office, this person then decided he no longer wished to speak to me and would not give me his name and said a manager would be in at 10:30 and promptly walked into a staff only area and slammed the door. Once I spoke to the manager at 10:45 she told me they would need to do their own diagnostics before they would even agree to anything, despite showing them the official print out of error codes and the head gasket colour test. After not getting anywhere for another hour eventually agreed on the grounds everything was in writing, eventually got confirmation the next day that they were authorising the refund, after waiting 3 more days with no response I spoke again to aftersales and was told they would not do the refund without the documentation from DVLA, thankfully it had arrived and I took it over to them, it then too another week for them to finally clear the money. DO NOT USE CARWORLD They do not provide any information other than the service book. Their is no pre-delivery inspection document and they only have 1 service person on staff, all other work is not done by them if done at all.
Terrible experience – avoid this dealer. I bought a Nissan from this dealership on February, and it has been nothing but problems. The day after I bought the car, the engine warning light came on. When I returned to ask about it, the staff dismissed my concerns and told me that modern cars have lots of sensors and that warning lights are “normal” because there are too many sensors. That is completely unacceptable. .. got faulty car at 13000 avoid this place … I also discovered that parts of the car had faded paint which appeared to have been temporarily covered up before the sale. When the weather became warmer and I tried to use the air conditioning, it only blew hot air. I had to pay £120 out of my own pocket to get it repaired. As a first-time car buyer, I feel I was misled and sold a faulty vehicle. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this dealership. Please be very careful before buying a car from them. I paid about 13000 and what i got like this car. Awful AVOID THIS PLACE
I would highly recommend against using CarWorld. I had the unfortunate displeasure of being looked after by Scott. He was selling me products before I test drove the car and made it very clear his priority was on the sale, not making sure the car was right. While I appreciate this is a valid sales technique, when I’m looking to part with nearly £40k I would expect better service. After getting the sales pitch and being told the wrong deposit amount needed if I wanted to buy, we took the car on a test drive. The route was really good for a test drive. At the end of the test drive Scott left to talk to another customer. Having waited for a short while, I left. The car wasn’t right for me and I didn’t like Scott’s manner. Today I get a phone call from Scott asking me why I “ran off” without speaking to him. I told him that the car wasn’t for me and he was too busy sorting out a different customer. For which he then accused me of being rude. I asked to speak to a member of management, but apparently one was not available. I am sure the lack of a sale has hit Scott’s pay packet, but his behaviour actively turn off any potential sale and subsequent phone will mean I will not use and actively discourage others using Car World.
I purchased a vehicle from Car World on 10 January 2026. Within days, warning lights appeared and I reported these to the dealership. Before I was able to return the vehicle to them, it developed drivetrain and charging faults and became undrivable. The vehicle was recovered to Car World and retained for approximately two weeks. I was subsequently informed that they had been unable to identify any faults and the vehicle was returned to me. However, further faults continued to occur. A local garage later identified an issue with the 12V battery and, following further drivetrain faults, BMW diagnosed a fault with the EV battery. According to BMW’s assessment, the fault was consistent with a condition that existed prior to my purchase. Car World’s proposed solution was to carry out the repair themselves; however, BMW advised that repairs attempted without specialist knowledge could potentially worsen the issue. Despite notifying Car World within the first month that I wished to reject the vehicle, the matter remained unresolved for several months. I sought advice from Citizens Advice and eventually instructed a solicitor, who sent a letter before action. Car World subsequently agreed to provide a full refund, although payment was received considerably later than expected. In my opinion, the after-sales service and communication fell well below the standard I expected. While I am pleased that I ultimately received a refund, it should not have taken five months to resolve a matter involving a vehicle that I was only able to use for approximately four weeks. The process was lengthy and extremely stressful, involving numerous phone calls, emails and ultimately legal action. In my experience, communication from Car World and between members of staff was poor. I frequently had to chase for updates and was often told I would receive a call back, which in many instances did not happen. Based on my experience, I would not choose to purchase from Car World again. Also be aware car world has 2 profiles on trust pilot.
Appalling post-sale experience with Car World. The car they sold me was faulty and not fit for purpose. Very little support and help in getting it fixed. Mostly non-responsive of emails and when I get someone on the phone they can't help and have to get back to us. I have legally rejected the car after their failed attempts to fix it. First they tried to refuse my rejection which is a breach of the consumer right act. Its now been over 2 months since my purchase and they still have my money and my car. Since my rejection they have completely failed to return my funds within the statutory 14-day window. While Car World have now accepted the vehicle's rejection they are now trying to reduce the amount they are refunding. Instead of complying with the law, they have attempted to stall the process by demanding an unlawful, punitive usage fee of 45p per mile and refusing to cover the independent diagnostic costs required to find the safety defect which their garage failed to identify and correct. Furthermore, when we purchased the vehicle we paid £415.83 for the car to be serviced and both Halfords and the Volvo garage through their diagnostics work have said that the car has not been serviced. As they have breached their legally binding deadlines and ignored my Final Notice Before Action, official legal proceedings have now been initiated via small claims court to recover my money, alongside a formal report to Trading Standards Avoid this dealership if you value your safety, your money, and your consumer rights.
The service was excellent no hard selling by staff, left to look at the cars on site. When I had selected a car the sales rep Scott talked me through the cars history. Then he clearly set out purchasing options and extended warranties ETC. I had been to other car show rooms in Peterborough but was deterred by the had sell. I would highly recommend Car World if your looking for a car in the City.
Don’t trust AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID I bought a car from them for 55,000 with a warranty, and it had a problem the same day I bought it. They didn't pay me for the repair spent £3000 and didn't even answer my calls. They're liars. Before the purchase, they are so kind, but after the purchase and payment, they become a completely different person. They deserve less than one star.
