Can’t thank Chris & his team enough. Looking to get a first car for our daughter but all cars advertised were sold. Spoke to Chris & he searched his contacts & found us the perfect car. Fantastic service from both the lads, friendly & knowledgeable. If they don’t have a car advertised, ask them as Chris will find it! Shall be back to buy my next car \U0001f44d
All our dealings with Bell’s, before and after buying, have been a pleasure. Chris and the team seem quite genuine in their desire to get you on the road in a reliable car. Don’t expect a polished showroom, it’s not that kind of operation. The financial dealings and transfer of ownership were swift and straightforward. Bell’s price their vehicles a little higher than the average according to Autotrader, but the car we bought—and I think this is a general thing with Bell’s—is unusually sound for its age. Also, their price includes some allowance for repairs and service issues. Chris and the team are proud of Bell’s workshop skills. That was borne out by all our dealings. The list of repairs agreed at the time of buying, were all completed well. A couple of relatively minor issue surfaced after a few days on the road—they were rectified quickly and with no quibbles. And Bell’s kept us on the road with a courtesy car.
I recently bought my first car from Bells garage and couldn’t be happier. The staff were friendly, patient, and explained everything clearly, which really helped as a first-time buyer. They showed me the car’s history, let me take a proper test drive, and answered all my questions without any pressure. The paperwork was made simple — they guided me through registration, tax, and insurance, even offering a short warranty and a free check-up afterward. The car runs great, and I’d highly recommend this garage for honest, helpful service and a smooth buying experience.
Edit: No surprise at the response from the owner of the business! I drove on the red light two hours as I was on my way back from Devon when it came on. My driving it at all was due to your assurances it was now fine (after numerous problems with it). I called you as soon as I was nearby and you threatened to charge me to collect it and do diagnostics. Only because I started small claims proceedings did you take the car back at all and pay me a fraction of the cost I'd paid you only a few months before! Absolute rip off merchant!! ///////////////////// Dreadful experience last year which I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. I was sold a car which spent more time back at Bells getting repaired than it was in my possession. In the end, it couldn't be repaired without a new engine required which I was told was my responsibility only a couple of months after purchasing the car from them. Wasn't covered by their warranty of course! The attitude of the proprietor and ultimate so called resolution offered was abysmal. I cut my losses and bought a different car from a different local dealer and I've had no issues whatsoever. Do not recommend and would advise to stay well away from the charlatan running this outfit.
Brought my daughters first car from here in May. Chris gave us a good price for the car and there was a few things that needed to be done.Which was done for my daughter. She hasn't passed her test yet, but is really enjoying learning to drive in her own car. Would recommend Bells Garage for first time drivers and will be making another visit when my other daughter is ready to look for her first car.
I bought a Fiat 500 from Bells garage about 6 months ago and couldn't fault my experience. The car was 15 years old and was a one owner from new with full service history and had covered only 65,000 miles. The car was absolutely immaculate inside and out and has given us no trouble at all in the time we have had it. Couldn't fault the sales team of Chris and Adam who were very friendly and helpful and put us under No pressure when we were looking at their cars. Would not hesitate to recommend after my experience \U0001f44d\U0001f44d
Brought my son his first car, and although fine to start with as he hadn’t passed his test, then the issues started arising after 3 months of using, took it back for a handbrake issue, said they had resolved, \xa3600 later whole new handbrake system was needed (out of warranty), and now it’s periodically cutting out, appreciate it’s a second hand car, although I feel (and I’m no mechanic) certainly with the handbrake should have been picked up. Anyway my advice seek for a longer warranty. Funny response, far from accurate, the car has done 1,500 miles since owning as he wasn’t driving when we brought the car, it’s just a honest review, shame and I’m sure it maybe just a one off bad experience, but it’s important to share.
