Used Audi A5 S Line cars

The Audi A5 S line is a sporty-looking version of Audi’s stylish A5, which is available as a coupe, convertible or hatchback. Each model is a practical everyday car, especially the five-door Sportback version.

The Audi A5 is, in essence, a sleeker, sportier version of the A4 saloon. The two cars share a lot of components including engines, gearboxes, suspension, brakes, electrics, much of the cars’ structure and even the dashboard. The main difference is in the bodywork that covers the mechanical bits.

The A4 is available as a practical saloon and or as an estate called the Avant, while the A5 comes in stylish coupe or convertible form. There’s also the A5 Sportback, which has a five-door hatchback body with a coupe-like sloping roofline. The current, second-generation version of the A5 has been on sale since 2016. The first-generation Audi A5 was sold new between 2007 and 2016.

Audi S line trim is intended to give you the look of Audi’s high-performance ‘S’ cars, without the associated price and running costs. So Audi A5 S line cars have sportier exterior elements, such as the bumpers, side skirts and spoilers, as well as sports seats and steering wheels inspired by the high-performance S5 models.

Audi A5 S line trim is the middle trim in the basic three-model A5 range, sitting between Sport and Black Edition. They all have similar features included as standard, including an infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and has built-in sat nav, leather upholstery, heated front seats, climate control, cruise control and parking sensors. What sets them apart is their different exterior and interior styling details. There have been a number of other A5 models over the years, including the entry-level SE and top-spec Vorsprung.

You can easily spot an Audi A5 S line by the sporty bodywork that marks it out from other A5 models. This includes a deeper front bumper with silver-coloured trim around the fog lights, a deeper rear bumper, a small spoiler on the boot lid and more prominent ‘skirt’ panels below the doors. There’s a unique design of 19-inch alloy wheels and lower suspension. Inside, you’ll find front sports seats, a three-spoke steering wheel, aluminium dashboard trim, stainless steel pedals and illuminated door sill plates with an ‘S’ logo. The Black Edition has similar styling with black, rather than metallic, elements.
