Keen to hand over keys and ask for £250 deposit when viewing but not very forthcoming in providing additional information about the cam belt on the car to be purchased until it was suggested we would not commit to buying the car until this information was known. Then got a call fairly quickly to confirm. Once sale had been agreed the invoice showed the wrong amount as FoW had charged for a warranty that had been declined by us. On collection of the vehicle, the female sales person seemed put out that the docs hadn't been signed beforehand, despite explaining the reason..ie. the balance was wrong on the invoice. She was also irritated by my lack of awareness of the electronic signing process and came across as rather rude and abrupt. We were not informed there was no service book until after the balance payment had been transferred. The Service history received was three pieces of A4 paper! The MOT was promised as part of the sale (as less than 3 month remaining) but checked online upon collection and it was established it hadn't in fact been done. After this error was identified, the MOT was arranged for the same day but a return visit was necessary to collect the car. However, the fuel tank had been topped up as a gesture of goodwill. Despite emailing ahead of the collection date to ask what docs I needed to provide in respect of our car for part ex. FoW failed to respond. Felt the 'male manager' sat out of sight and directed the young members of the team rather than taking ownership and apologising for the shortfall in many areas by FoW. I was promised an email re clearance of stock finance, which has still not been received...6 weeks on.. For an established car dealership, the whole process seemed very average and amateurish.
Would give zero if possible. I had a viewing booked for 10am today to see a BMW. I had explained to the girl on the phone the day before that I had booked the day off work bit was assured that the car was on site. I arrived and was left for an hour to be eventually told that you could not find the car. One male member of staff who was assigned to us was very rude during the single update was provided. No further updates, tea/coffee offered, basic customer service. We were told that another viewing for the same car had been arranged for 18th march and they couldn't find it then either. Makes me wonder if it was ever in stock. Very disappointed as I had always understood that fords of Windsford were a more professional company. Will not be recommending.
I have been to both locations Trafford and Winsford and staff were great , helpful and knowledgeable. Brought my car in Trafford with the help of Arija Thanks. Only down side, I dont think you should be pushing additional warranties and gap if anything it should be included.
Overall, it was a positive experience. The initial service was excellent. I was given the freedom to explore the cars at my own pace, which made the process enjoyable and relaxed. However, after placing my deposit, communication noticeably slowed. I attempted to call twice in the week leading up to collection and left notes with some of the employees but didn’t receive a response or confirmation back until the day itself. On arrival, I then had to wait around two hours past my scheduled collection time, only to find that the car didn’t meet the what was agreed during the first check and needed to go back in for a brief service within the next week. This took away from what should have been a really exciting moment. Overall, a good experience, but it would have been significantly improved with clearer and more timely communication.
A seamless transaction from buying the car to picking it up. This was not my first purchase from FOW over the years and like the others it was easy to complete. Hannah was great and I respected her knowledge, especially when we were talking about a car that I very nearly purchased elsewhere in the week before being one that FOW would not sell on their forecourt due to Its unreliability. Thanks very much.
