Thinking of buying a used Mercedes-Benz GLC?

Cazoo has a range of Mercedes-Benz GLC cars for sale. If you're thinking of buying or financing a used Mercedes-Benz GLC, we answer any questions you might have below.

The style of the car

The GLC is a premium compact SUV that’s available as either a five-door estate or sleek five-door Coupe. Featuring typical Mercedes-Benz high quality finish it’s a smart and good looking family car. Both versions feature practical boot openings, an elevated ride height and spacious interiors. All models get alloy wheels, while the AMG-Line versions benefit from sporty visual enhancements.

How it drives

The combination of light steering, a smooth automatic gearbox and high-up driving position makes the GLC easy to drive and place on the road, despite its size. It’s quiet and relaxing on long journeys and the soft suspension that deals effortlessly with bumps further adds to the comfort. Parking sensors take the strain out of town driving and all versions have Mercedes-Benz 4MATIC four-wheel drive, making the GLC capable on slippery terrain or for towing.

The interior

The five-door, five seater GLC is a relatively large SUV with a spacious interior and lots of useful storage areas. There’s space for three adults in the back and legroom is good, although taller passengers might find that the Coupe model’s sloping roofline restricts headroom. The boot of both versions is generous and they will easily hold four medium-sized suitcases. There’s loads of equipment, with entry-level Sport versions getting air con, an intuitive infotainment system and a powered tailgate. AMG Line versions add some sporty touches, while the Urban and Night Editions feature extras such as upgraded leather trim.

Running costs and reliability

The GLC costs more to buy than mainstream models, but it’s extremely well-equipped and it holds onto its value better. Despite their power the engines deliver good efficiency, while the plug-in hybrid model can travel up to 29 miles in pure electric mode. Tax costs are similar to premium rivals, while pre-paid servicing packs help make maintenance more affordable. Mercedes-Benz has a good reputation for reliability, while the GLC’s safety credentials are first rate, with systems such as autonomous emergency braking earning it a five-star Euro NCAP score.

How it compares with similar cars

The Mercedes-Benz GLC sits in the middle of Mercedes-Benz SUV line-up, between the smaller Mercedes-Benz GLA and larger Mercedes-Benz GLE and GLS models. There’s little to separate the GLC from the Audi Q5 and BMW X3 in terms of quality, technology and practicality, but the Mercedes is more luxurious.
