Financing your car

Yes you can. Financing your car with Cazoo can make buying your next used car more affordable. We offer two types of finance – Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) or HirePurchase (HP). All of our finance offers are subject to status and affordability checks.

Both HP and PCP allow you to pay for your car in monthly payments over an agreed period, with a fixed rate of interest. The key difference is what happens at the end of each contract.

With a HP contract, you’ll own the car after making the final payment.

At the end of a PCP contract, you can either hand the car back to the lender, part exchange it for a new one, or pay the final repayment (including any purchase fee) to keep the car. New finance agreements are subject to status and affordability checks.

If you hand the car back at the end of a PCP agreement, there may be extra charges if you go over the agreed annual mileage or if the car has damage over fair wear and tear. To find out more, read our guide on HP vs PCP.

Find your perfect Cazoo car, pick your delivery slot and then choose the option to finance your car. Once you’ve found a deal that suits you, you can then apply for it. If you’ve been approved by the lender, you’ll need to pay your deposit and sign your documents.

We’ll give you an instant finance decision wherever possible, but sometimes it may take longer. We’ll keep you updated on your application’s progress.

During your application, we'll need your personal details, employment details, address history, bank account details and a copy of your photo driving licence.

When you apply for finance, there will be a check on your credit profile and we need your personal details to do this.

Our finance calculator is designed to give you an instant estimate of your monthly costs for a PCP or an HP agreement, based on our representative example APR of 8.9%.

After being accepted for finance you’ll have 24 hours to pay your deposit. If your deposit isn’t paid within 24 hours, the car you applied for will go back up for sale on our website. After you’ve paid your deposit, you’ll have until midday the day before delivery to sign your documents. If your delivery is on a Monday, you’ll need to sign your documents by midday on Saturday.

When you apply for finance a lender will run a hard credit check on your credit profile. Too many hard credit checks over a short period can affect your credit score for six months, which could reduce your ability to get approved for credit.

When you apply for finance with Cazoo, there are two types of credit checks - hard and soft.

A hard credit check is completed when you’ve applied for credit and the lender reviews your credit report to help make a decision on your finance application. This type of check will be visible to other lenders and can have an impact on your credit score.

A soft credit check is a preliminary credit check which is usually undertaken to understand if you’re eligible for certain products with lenders. This type of check will not be visible to other lenders and does not impact your credit score.

After being accepted for finance you’ll have 24 hours to pay your deposit. If your deposit isn’t paid within 24 hours, the car you applied for will go back up for sale on our website.

After this you’ll have until midday the day before delivery to sign your documents. If your delivery is on a Monday, you’ll need to sign your documents by midday on Saturday.

Yes you can! Whether you have a HP or PCP agreement, you have the right to end your agreement at any time by paying off the remaining balance in full. If you have paid half of the total amount payable and are up-to-date with your monthly payments you also have the right to simply hand the car back. This is known as your voluntary termination rights.

If you want to pay off your HP agreement early, you’ll own the car outright but may need to pay an early settlement fee.

For a PCP agreement, the car’s mileage and condition will need to be inline with your terms and conditions.

Most of our customers receive a very competitive APR of 8.9% representative.

Usually between 28-31 days after the lender has signed the agreement. You can usually change the date for free before you make your first payment. Please check your lender's terms and conditions.

Yes you can. You’ll need to notify the finance company and you may need to pay any applicable interest charges. You’ll also need to return your car to Cazoo.

Yes you can. You’ll need to notify the finance company and pay any outstanding balance.

Yes you can. The 7-Day Money Back Guarantee will apply if you withdraw from your finance agreement in the first 7 days and notify Cazoo. If you withdraw between 8 and 14 days, you can still return the car to Cazoo but you’ll have to pay for collection. See the Cazoo terms and conditions for full details.

Making a payment

We accept personal UK Visa, Mastercard and Amex credit and debit cards.

We can’t accept overseas cards or corporate cards.

We also accept part exchange cars which will be deducted from your total payment.

You can also apply for finance through Cazoo, subject to status and affordability checks.

As the car will be registered in your name when you purchase it, the delivery address and ID should match the credit or debit card billing details. If you’re unable to pay using your own card, we may need to carry out further ID checks.

If you’re buying the car for someone else, you can transfer the car ownership once the purchase is complete.

At the moment, you can’t split your payment across multiple cards. This is something we’re working on - so stay tuned!

Yes, you can! As long as both billing addresses are the same as your delivery address.

We’ll take payment online when you place your order. If you’re buying a car without finance, you can pay by credit or debit card. If you’re buying a car with finance, you pay your deposit at checkout and will make future payments inline with your finance agreement.

Insurance and tax

We provide free 7-Day Driveaway Insurance from Tempcover which you’ll need to activate before we handover your car at delivery. Or you can arrange your own insurance coverage instead. After the 7 days, you'll need to arrange your own insurance cover.

If you enter into a finance agreement, the finance provider may specify the level of insurance required, please refer to your finance agreement terms and conditions for further information.

Our free 7-Day Driveaway Insurance from Tempcover is a single user fully comprehensive policy that will cover you if your Cazoo car is lost, damaged or stolen during the first 7 days. If you do need to make a claim, there will be a £500 excess to pay. This excess is increased to £750 for all drivers aged 21 and under. To find out more, read a summary of the cover provided.

Yes, you can apply for the 7-Day Driveaway Insurance if you’re aged 18 or over. If you’re aged 75 or over, you won’t be able to benefit from the 7-Day Driveaway Insurance and will need to arrange your own cover.

Yes, you can apply for the 7-Day Driveaway Insurance if you have a UK, NI or EU full driving licence.

Tempcover won’t approve an application with a provisional driving licence.

To tax your car you'll need to have your licence registration and 12-digit V5 number to hand. Both can be found in your order confirmation email.

You can tax your car by registering at the DVLA.

Click ‘Start now’ and then you’ll need to select the third option - ‘V5C/2 new keeper supplement (green slip), which is just a couple of clicks after you’ve entered your details.

You’ll need to buy road tax via the DVLA. We’ll send you an email to remind you to tax your car before it’s delivered.

About Cazoo cars

Before a Cazoo car appears on our website, it passes a thorough 150+ point inspection. Our mechanics check everything from the lights, windscreen wipers and radio to the sat-nav, cooling system, engine, brakes and more. We also spend hundreds of pounds reconditioning each car. If a car doesn’t pass our 150+ point inspection, we simply won’t sell it.

Our buying team purchase high-quality cars from a variety of sources, including auctions, dealerships, leasing companies and manufacturers. We also sell cars that have been part exchanged by our customers. Before we purchase a car, we thoroughly inspect it to make sure it meets our highest standards.

Our cars are safely stored at our Vehicle Preparation Centre. This is where we conduct our 150+ point inspection. These centres aren’t open to the public. Instead, you can discover a wide range of Cazoo cars on our website and have a car delivered to your home.

There’s no need. We offer a transparent and haggle-free experience.The prices listed for each car are our best prices and are as competitive as possible. The price you see is the price that you’ll pay for your car and there are no hidden fees or extra costs on top of your purchase.

To ensure we always give you the best price, we use data to calculate thousands of prices daily. We sometimes adjust them to remain competitive and to make sure our cars have a good price.

No, we don’t sell any cars that have been in a major accident or if they’ve been written off by an insurance company.

Some of our cars may have been privately owned or bought from a business. No matter where we sourced the car from, every Cazoo car is thoroughly inspected, fully reconditioned and valeted to the same high standard.

Cazoo cars will have a service history where applicable. Some cars won’t have been serviced if they’re less than 12 months old or haven’t completed a certain mileage yet.

We don’t sell any cars which have outstanding finance due.

We carry out a provenance check on every car before it appears on our website. This ensures that our cars don’t have outstanding finance, haven't been reported stolen and haven't been written off by an insurance company.

Buying a car

You can’t test drive our cars, but with our 7-Day Money Back Guarantee, you can return your Cazoo car within 7 days of delivery. If you don’t like it for any reason, just let us know and we’ll collect it for free.

We can’t accept a return if the car has been modified, been in an accident or is damaged or altered from the condition it was delivered in.

If you drive the car over the 250 mile limit during the first 7 days, every additional mile will cost £1 per mile alongside deductions for any damage incurred.

There’s no need to leave home to collect your car. We’ll deliver it to your door at a time to suit you, 7 days a week.

We're an online-only retailer, so we don’t have showrooms or forecourts. Before buying a Cazoo car, you can see its condition and quality from every angle with our 360-degree digital photography, including any imperfections.

You can view the car inside and out with our 360-degree digital photography. It allows you to inspect the car from every angle. You’ll be able to see the car’s condition, key features and any imperfections.

If a car has any imperfections, we’ll highlight them in the car’s photos - just look out for the yellow warning sign. We aim to buff out any unsightly scratches or marks, but sometimes there will be imperfections which we can’t completely fix. Wherever this is the case, we’ll be upfront and tell you about it.

You can hold one car in your basket without paying a deposit as you go through the checkout process. You can only hold one car in your basket at any one time.

You can’t buy a car as a gift. As the car will need to be registered to the owner, the delivery address and ID need to match the billing details of the person buying the car. Once you own the car or have completed your finance agreement, you can transfer the details of the V5 over to anyone you’d like to gift the car to.

If you’re not completely happy with the condition of the car when it's delivered, our Customer Support Team will be more than happy to help. We can either help you have any imperfections repaired or we can arrange to collect the car for free if you don’t want to keep it within the first 7 days.

When we deliver your Cazoo car, you'll receive its service history alongside a welcome pack and a free selection of car goodies.

Yes, you can buy a Cazoo car if you pay in cash. You can use your EU driver's licence (and/or passport) along with a utility bill or bank statement which matches the UK billing and delivery address.

At the moment, we can't accept finance applications without a UK driver's licence.

Your order confirmation email will include all your details. If you can't find it, try checking your junk mail and make sure that Cazoo is on your safe senders list. If all else fails, you can contact us on 020 3901 3488 where a member of our team will be happy to help.


We deliver 7 days a week from 8am-8pm and in as little as 72 hours. Just choose your preferred two-hour delivery slot during checkout and one of our Delivery Specialists will bring it to your door. You can also choose a slot up to two weeks away.

We offer delivery slots 7 days a week, including weekends and bank holidays. The only days we don’t deliver are Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Nothing, it’s free! We’ll deliver your car to your home address at no extra cost.

We deliver across all of mainland UK. We currently don't deliver to the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight, the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland. We also don't deliver to the Scottish Islands or Ardgay, Dornoch, Ullapool, Lairg, Rogart and Portree.

We won't be able to deliver your Cazoo car unless your address on your photo driving licence matches the delivery address.

One of our Delivery Specialists will show you around the car and answer any questions. All you need to do is show proof of your identification and give us a quick signature.

Yes, when your car is delivered by one of our Delivery Specialists, you’ll need to show a valid photo driving licence as proof of identity.

When your car is delivered, it will have been thoroughly inspected, reconditioned and valeted.

If you want to return or exchange your car, simply call us before 8pm on the 7th day following delivery and we’ll arrange a convenient time to collect the car from you. All our cars come with a 7-Day Money Back Guarantee which starts on the day of delivery.

Every car we deliver will have at least 15 litres of fuel (roughly equivalent to a quarter tank) so you can enjoy it from the get-go. If it’s an electric car, it’ll come with at least 75% charge.

Rescheduling a delivery is easy, just let us know! You can give us a call on 020 3901 3488. The time of your delivery can be changed for free up to 24 hours before your original delivery slot. Just be aware that any changes made within 24 hours of your original delivery slot will be charged at £100.

We're only able to deliver cars to your registered home address. This is because the car needs to be handed over to the person who matches the proof of identification provided.

Returns and refunds

You’ve got up to a week to get to know your Cazoo car and to make sure it suits you. If, for whatever reason, you’re not completely happy with it, just let us know before 8pm of the 7th day following delivery and we’ll come and collect it for a full refund. If you return your car and need to get your road tax refunded, head over to the DVLA.


After your delivery, Cazoo will let the DVLA know that you’re the new keeper of the car. The new V5 log book should arrive at your address within two weeks

If you’re keeping your personalised number plate, please make sure you have your new V5C which matches the registration plate that will be on the car when we collect it. If you need to get an updated V5C, you’ll need to allow up to two weeks for it to be sent to you. Otherwise, we may need to postpone your delivery. Head over to the DVLA to apply for a new V5C.

Part exchange

Yes you can. We’ll give you an instant valuation and a fair offer for your old car. Simply complete our online valuation form to receive your offer and we’ll then apply the amount to any new Cazoo purchase. As long as your car meets the conditions that need to be accepted in checkout, we’ll also collect your part exchange when we deliver your Cazoo car.

We’ll give you an instant valuation online and the price you see won’t change. We also won’t add on any extra fees. We offer a transparent and haggle-free experience for our customers, so you can be sure that the valuation you receive is the best offer we can make.

We look at a number of different aspects, such as the make, model and key features, to make sure we’re offering an accurate part exchange price. This helps us to get you the best price. Unlike some part exchange companies, we won’t change the price when we collect your car as long as it’s as described.

We’ll need to know some basic information about your car and you’ll need to have your V5C document to hand.

You’ll need to contact the DVLA to request a new one. We can't accept your car for part exchange without a physical V5.

We’ll deduct your car’s part exchange value from the cost of your Cazoo car. You’ll be able to review this during the checkout process before you place your order.

We will value your car and will still take it as a part exchange.

If you’re selling your existing car to us in part exchange, we’ll inspect the car and we'll need your V5 document. Then we'll take it off your hands.

Once we collect a part exchanged car, we don't hold onto it for you. If a part exchanged car passes our thorough inspection and reconditioning process, you may see it back up for sale on the website. Otherwise, we may choose to sell it at auction.

You don’t need to cancel your road tax on a car that you’re part exchanging. Your car tax will be cancelled once the DVLA has been notified that the car has been sold to Cazoo. If you have any unused car tax, excluding the month you cancelled in, you’ll automatically get a refund from the DVLA.

Once your old car has been part exchanged on the day your Cazoo car is delivered, the part exchange is final and you won’t get your old car back.

Currently, you can only part exchange one car during checkout.

You can’t negotiate on the price of your part exchange. We offer a transparent and haggle-free experience for our customers, so you can be sure that the valuation you receive is the best offer we can make.

Warranty and MOT

Every Cazoo car comes with our comprehensive 90-day warranty. Some cars will already have an outstanding manufacturer’s warranty which may have less than 90 days left. If this happens, we’ll apply our 90-day warranty to the car.

In addition to your statutory rights (including your right to reject a faulty car in the first 30 days), every car we sell comes with our free 90-day warranty and RAC roadside assistance for more peace of mind. After the 90 days, the warranty will no longer be valid unless you buy an extended warranty. If you need to make a warranty claim, contact Assurant on 0330 100 3821. Yes, your car will come with a recent MOT with at least 6 months to go before the next one is due, unless your car is less than three years old. Cars less than three years old don’t require a MOT.

Usually, a service is due every 10,000-15,000 miles or every 12 months, whichever comes first. Every Cazoo car will have also been recently serviced by us.
