Auctioned on Saturday 7th March

Car location
IverThis Lot will be sold at auction at Symphony of Spring; Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 7th March. The BMW 3.0 Si represents the height of BMWs early executivesport saloon philosophy, blending understated luxury with genuinely engaging performance. Part of the E3 New Six lineup introduced in the late 1960s, the 3.0 Si refined the formula that helped establish BMW as a global benchmark for driverfocused saloons. Under its bonnet sits a 3.0 litre inline six engine from BMWs revered M30 family. The fuelinjected S variant produced around 200bhp, delivering smooth, turbinelike power through either a fourspeed manual or a threespeed automatic transmission. Power delivery is linear and confidenceinspiring, making the car feel athletic despite its executive proportions. Visually, the 3.0 Si is restrained yet purposeful. Its upright kidney grille, quad round headlights, slim pillars, and crisp body lines give it a timeless elegance. Chrome accents and subtle badging underscore its premium positioning without excess. Inside, the cabin balances luxury and ergonomics, with clear instrumentation, supportive seats, and highquality materials. The dashboard is angled slightly toward the driver, a detail that would become a BMW hallmark. On the road, the 3.0 Si feels remarkably modern for its era. Independent suspension at all four corners, balanced weight distribution, and communicative steering create a composed yet responsive driving experience.Originally registered on 11th May 1976, this BMW was purchased by the vendor a number of years ago with a view to restoring it to its former glory. Unfortunately, circumstances have not allowed for that, and it has been decided to put this rare BMW (only 21 according to how many left) up for sale. It is basically a sound example that runs and drives, having been stored in a secure barn since purchase. This manual gearbox example of one of BMWs classic design, represents an excellent opportunity for an enthusiast to restore this 3.0 Si. Today, the BMW 3.0 Si is appreciated not only as a classic executive saloon but also as a foundational model that paved the way for the later 5 Series and 7 Series legacy. Consigned by Stewart Banks
