Excellent history file. From a six year ownership. The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL is a timeless classic from the R107 series, blending elegance with performance. Powered by a smooth 3.0 litre inline-six engine, it offered refined driving dynamics and a reputation for durability. With its long bonnet, balanced proportions, and iconic chrome accents, the R107 embodied Mercedes understated luxury of the era. Available as a roadster with a removable hardtop, it combined open-air freedom with practicality. Today, it remains highly collectible, admired for its craftsmanship, reliability, and enduring style.Our vendor purchased this 300 SL around six years ago and has enjoyed it as a weekend car during that time. Its presented in quite a rare shade of Nautical Blue Metallic with the highly desirable navy/checked cloth interior, both of which are well presented, but the hood has a small tear on the drivers side seam and the dash has a few small cracks however, the overall condition is commensurate to the mileage of the car. The head was rebuilt in 2015 along with a new water pump and head gasket, the door seals and hard top seals were replaced in 2018, subframe bushes were replaced in 2019 along with a new alternator. The history file contains a record of plenty of maintenance in recent years, many parts have been replaced and we are told the car is a joy to drive. Supplied to auction with an MoT test certificate valid until September 2026, a V5C registration document and aforementioned maintenance records, this looks like an excellent SL and is offered excitingly without reserve.
