Brought a car from these guys last year. Drive 20 miles, engine light comes on. Speed limiter isn’t working, no cruise control and struggles to start up when stalled, takes 10 sec to get from 50 to 60. Turned out it needed a new battery and sensors are broken. Feels like a friend cleared the code just to sell. Can’t bring it in because of work commitments, was offered \xa3500 in warranty for a broken car. Never again.
"Huge thanks to the team at The Carshop for making my car-buying journey so smooth. They were so helpful and patient with all my questions. I’m thrilled with my new car and really appreciated their transparent, honest approach. If you’re looking for a stress-free experience, I can’t recommend them enough!"
I genuinely don’t know how this place gets great reviews. I phoned up about the rover 25 they had up for sale for \xa34000. I had been looking for a decent one out of nostalgia. They told me that I had to wait over the weekend to get it out of a car lot, but wouldn’t let me see it at the car lot. I arrived on the Monday to see it and at first glance, it was rough. It hadn’t got an MOT, it was absolutely covered in rust, that was definitely not on the photos. The wheel well was full of water and they had tried to hide the smell of damp with strong air freshener. The rear light was cracked and the roof lining was all damaged and sagging. The seller would not let us start it, he started it himself and noticed he was pressing the accelerator down as he did so. The exhaust was blowing and it was absolutely horrible to drive. Seller tried to blag that it was a 3 speed automatic and that’s why it was driving like this, I point out to him that it literally says 6 speed on the gear selector. This is advertised for \xa34000! This is a car destined for the scrap yard. I will say that I turned up in a similar aged (very tidy) Jaguar, and the seller said that this rover was definitely worth \xa34000 and that I was used to jaguar quality. But I had only recently acquired this Jaguar for \xa31000. When we told the seller we were walking away, he was then extremely rude and quite aggressive. I obviously ended up walking away and bought a lovely 2012 Jaguar XF instead for \xa34000. Some of the other cars on their forecourt also left a lot to be desired, with flat tyres and damp inside them. If you’re looking at buying a car from this establishment, then you have been warned.
Bought a car from here a couple of months ago. They were really helpful, nothing seemed too much! Completed a service, changed a tyre and got the car ready to pick up in a matter of days. I had a few small issues with the car (key ran out of battery etc) which I went to them about a couple of months after buying and they sorted it all for me for no charge. Would really recommend! Will be going back for my service/MOTs :)
My car broke down on the way back from the hospital outside there garage and came to help me get my car off the road they found the clutch on my car had gone they gave me a price for this and a full service MOT and as I live an hour a way they delivered my car back to me the best service from a garage I have had in a long time I highly recommend this garage for service being helpful and friendly thank you
