The experience at Motor Match Chester was really good! I would definitely recommend family and friends. Shane was amazing through out the whole process and nothing was too much trouble. I am so happy with my vehicle and I definitely will be going back when I need to look for another vehicle in a few years time!
I started my experience at Motor Match feeling genuinely excited. This was going to be my first sole car purchase, and looking around at all the options felt like such a special milestone for me. We were greeted by Lewis, who was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful from the beginning. He took the time to explain the options available to us and worked hard to orchestrate a deal that suited my circumstances and made me feel comfortable moving forward with my chosen car. At that stage, I felt valued as a customer and really positive about the experience. Two weeks later came the day I was due to collect my car. I am a teacher and work full-time in a school where I am unable to access my phone throughout the day. Due to a family situation, Lewis was unavailable and I was handed over to another member of staff, Shane. At around 3:30pm, I answered a call from Shane, who immediately sounded exasperated and was sighing down the phone at me, stating they had “tried to contact me all day.” In reality, I had two missed calls. I was told I needed to sign my finance agreement promptly and it was heavily implied that I may not be able to collect my car that evening if I did not do so immediately. As a result, I felt pressured into signing important finance documents quickly, without properly being able to take in the details — something that should never feel rushed given the significance of the commitment being made. When I called Shane back, the tone remained impatient. He asked me to sign numerous additional documents, and when I explained that I would prefer to complete them at the garage because I needed to leave work to travel there, he made it clear this would delay the appointment — something I was already fully aware of. By this point, what should have been an exciting and memorable experience had become stressful and upsetting. When we arrived at the dealership, we were quickly ushered to a desk and rushed through signing paperwork. The atmosphere felt uncomfortable and pressured, and I did not feel as though I was given the time or space to properly read through documents before signing them. I apologised for not being available during the school day due to my profession, and Shane then turned to my partner and made what I felt was a misogynistic remark about it being a “blessing” for him that I could not text or call throughout the day. I found this deeply inappropriate and unprofessional. The overwhelming stress of the experience actually reduced me to tears while Shane went to collect my keys and paperwork. What should have been a happy, exciting milestone — collecting my first car — instead became a memory of feeling rushed, pressured, and upset. I want to make it clear that Lewis was excellent throughout my initial experience. He made me feel genuinely cared for and valued as a customer, and I am very grateful for the effort and kindness he showed me. Unfortunately, my interaction with Shane completely changed the tone of what should have been a special occasion.
The staff at Motor Match Chester were good because they treated me with respect from start to finish.James Batterham dealt with me in a kind and friendly manner,answering any questions, and trusted me to test drive the vehicle on my own.This alone inspired confidence in the dealership,and allowed me to make an informed descision regarding a purchase.The whole dealership was clinical clean ,with quality coffee available at no costThey sent a quality driver and car to pick me up at the train station when i returned to drive away my purchase.To conclude this is a shining example of how a quality dealership should be conducted.Without hesitation i strongly recommend dealing with this company and all its highly efficient and courteous staff.
