Buying a car (2018 mercedes glc) from hilton garage and as advertised with full service history upon inspecting the documents I have found it was missing a gearbox service. They had said " a gearbox service is not a necessity but it's advised and because of this we will not do it and we will not adjust the price of the car" after a long conversation they had agreed they would do the service along as I paid for all the service parts (estated £400 for parts). This makes me wonder how many cars they have miss sold as full service history to other customers who have not picked up on it. (Its illegal and immoral) But when questioned about warranty they said if I was to purchase the aa warranty at £500 for a year they would have to do the gearbox service themselves and cover all cost. Other issues regarding bad sales service - - multiple delays on collection dates. - Replacing 3 tyres so there's 1 odd mostly worn tyre. - brakes discs are worn but worn unevenly with deep groves in them. "they are above are minimum thickness" - when collecting the car it was dirty and with bird mess on the windows - and the fuel light was below minimum and flashing. The direct sales staff I have dealt with when purchasing this car have been great and done well with the sale. It's just the management making poor decisions when they have been informed about the situation.
I went to the garage to choose a new car, actually enjoyed not being bothered by salesman whilst looking. Went inside to request test drives of a couple of vehicles - receptionist said to sit and wait. An hour later, still sat waiting, no way of knowing when we would be seen, then told by salesman we could only test drive one car. I chose one car to test drive, and actually loved it so made the decision to buy. The sales process took ages. Salesman didn't seem exactly sure what they were doing but I potentially thought they were new to the job. Over 2 hours later, i drove home - still fairly happy. The following day, i contacted them about a discrepancy between what i was verbally told in the sales process and what was detailed in the paperwork. Reception said someone would call back - guess what, no call. I called again, they had a new excuse - issues with the phone line. I ask for them to arrange for a manager to call me but still not heard from them. I have raised a complaint by email, and again, no response. They are also very experienced in saying "you viewed the car in person, and therefore cannot return it". Also, do not accept them telling you that you can only pay by bank transfer, it's absolutely not true, i think they're just trying to avoid any protection you have with your bank/credit card.
As a result of illness, we needed to sell my wife's cherished and immaculate BMW as soon as possible so listed it on Motorway. Hilton garage bid for it, but due to the timing of the sale my wife had just filled the tank of the car to the brim, however we didn't want to risk using the car in case something happened to it prior to collection, so left it on the drive. When the collection driver came to collect it, he noted the full tank and advised it was unusual, and he would normally be expected to put fuel in to be able to drive it back, so offered to ask his contact at Hilton Garage if they would consider a token gesture as part of the payment to cover the £60 worth of petrol in the car. I witnessed the Watts App message he got back from Hilton, it was a very blunt "We don't pay for fuel". We avoided the driver having to put expensive motorway service station fuel into the car, which would have been rebilled back to Hilton garage, yet they couldn't even bring themselves to offer a token gesture like £25 which would have been enough. This attitude has ruined the whole experience for us, and I will now stop my son from buying the car he just located at the Hilton Garage Warrington location.
I’m sorry I have been so delayed adding this review! Had recently moved and had to find a new MOT centre pretty soon after and was a bit apprehensive about finding a reliable one. Based on the existing reviews, I chose Hilton MOT centre and had an equally positive experience! Waj is a super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable person and everything was fair and clearly explained to me. Would recommend to others without hesitation.
