I am extremely disappointed with the service we received from Coopers Car Sales. We purchased a car in October 2025, and less than a month later it had to be returned to their garage because it was missing a bolt holding the engine in place — a serious and dangerous issue that should never have been missed. Then, in early March, the gearbox and clutch both failed. When I contacted Coopers to explain the situation, I was dismissively told it had nothing to do with them, despite the ongoing faults with the vehicle. I was left with no choice but to contact the finance company, who eventually managed to get a response. I was without a car for nearly six weeks, all while being 36 weeks pregnant. Despite this, I was never offered a courtesy car or any support, which caused unnecessary stress during an already difficult time. When collecting the car on Saturday — after having to call myself to check if it was even ready — we were approached by Lewis, who was very rude and blunt. He asked a garage worker to retrieve the car, only for them to respond that it was blocked in by three other vehicles, making it clear the car was not actually ready for collection as stated. On inspection, the car had additional damage: a broken rear light cover, a dent in the boot, and a scratch on the driver’s door that appeared to have been poorly covered with correction fluid. When I called to report this, the response was simply “I’ll have to ask around” — no apology, no concern, and no accountability. After chasing again, we were told they had checked CCTV and found nothing. However, when they originally collected the car, it had a seized handbrake and was driven roughly around the car park — something that would also be visible on CCTV. The damage appears consistent with mishandling either during recovery or while in their care, yet once again, they refused to take any responsibility. Overall, the customer service has been appalling — rude, dismissive, and completely lacking in accountability. We were sold a car that was unsafe and unroadworthy, and the aftercare has been just as unacceptable. I would strongly advise others to avoid Coopers Car Sales. Based on my experience, you can expect ongoing issues and little to no support when problems arise.
Honest review. I bought a car with Luke. Noted a problem requiring a repair. Luke ordered OEM parts, but due to main dealer part delays we had to wait a couple of weeks. We were kept updated regularly and now our car is fixed and we can enjoy it. Car was amazing spec at a fair price. Rate your dealer after something goes wrong, then you know you have good the dealer is. 4.5/5 stars from me.
Shocking. Truly shocking. These lads run what I can only describe as a shoddy and unprofessional business, and it’s genuinely impressive they’ve managed to keep it going this long. The irony is quite something. If you so much as use a mild swear word on the phone, they suddenly become deeply offended. Yet they are perfectly happy to sell you what is essentially a mechanical death wish and then act surprised when you’re not thrilled about it. I had \xa3250 off the car — which I bought outright, in cash — and they actually used this as some sort of defence when I raised concerns. Concerns, by the way, that involved driving down a busy road when the alloy wheel almost fell off the car. But yes, clearly that’s on me, and not at all because their “mechanics” appear to treat basic safety checks as optional. No air conditioning. Loose wheel nuts. No reverse camera. An impressive list, really, for a car sold in “brilliant condition”. Then, about a month into ownership, every electrical sensor on the car had a collective nervous breakdown. The dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree, which was at least festive, if not particularly reassuring. All because these cowboys somehow managed to sell me what can only be described as an absolute monument to poor workmanship and even worse customer service. Thankfully, judging by the growing number of reviews from people sharing the exact same experience, it seems I’m far from alone. Hopefully enough people will read these and realise it’s best to avoid this place altogether. As a small piece of advice — since improvement clearly isn’t a strong point here — try listening to your customers and actually helping them when things go wrong. Even if it costs you in the short term, it might eventually lead to something resembling a good reputation. In an industry built entirely on trust, that would be a sensible place to start.
I genuinely regret buying a car from Coopers Car Sales and I could not imagine a worse experience. My partner and I bought a Jeep Renegade in March 2025. The initial experience was good and they provided what seemed like a good service. We travelled from the West Midlands to collect the car and agreed on a slightly lower price than it was listed for, so overall it seemed like a great experience. Little did we know that just one week later my partner and I would be left on the side of the road with a wheel that was barely attached to the car. If this had happened on the motorway, I dread to think what the outcome could have been. After taking the car to a garage to be inspected, we were given a quote of around \xa31,000 worth of repairs, which luckily the warranty covered most of. We also discovered that the air conditioning did not work at all, something that was never mentioned at the point of sale and would have cost us around \xa3120 to fix ourselves, as this was not covered under the warranty. I called the garage myself and explained everything, expecting at the very least an apology or some explanation as to how this could happen so soon after buying a car that was described as being in brilliant condition. I asked whether they would inspect the car themselves or offer compensation, or even a full refund and take the car back. Their response was that we should just “call it even” because we had some money off the car when we bought it. I was in complete shock at what I was hearing and the tone they used — it felt like I was speaking to a completely different person to the one who sold us the car. Even after coming out of the garage, the car continued to develop numerous issues with the electrics and systems. This genuinely left us scared to travel far in the car, as we had no trust that it was safe to drive at all. I sent them a letter explaining that we were within the 30 days of purchase and had the right to a refund or replacement. They did receive my letter, as they had to sign for it, but I never received any response. I then sent another letter with a deadline for a reply, but again there was complete silence. From reading other people’s reviews, there are now multiple customers sitting with cars on their drives that they cannot trust. We came to Coopers Car Sales because they seemed genuine and trustworthy, but that now feels like nothing more than a front to secure a sale. Once you have bought the car, I can vouch that they want absolutely nothing to do with you and will not help if anything goes wrong. I hope people are extremely wary before buying a car from this garage and understand what they may be getting themselves into.
I bought a Fiat Panda Multijet diesel in August 25 I am happy with this purchase. My contact in viewing and buying was with Wayne who was most helpful. No pressure to buy. I had brought a friend who was an experienced mechanic to check the vehicle, Wayne was open and happy for the inspection to be made.I was looking at an older car,so needed to have realistic expectations. This was to replace my Fiat Panda Multijet that had served me well for twelve years with little maintenance expense. Many thanks to Wayne for his good customer service.
In 2022, we purchased a Škoda Octavia from Coopers and initially had a positive experience. When a minor issue arose, it was handled quickly and professionally. Several years later, having sold that vehicle, we returned to Coopers due to our previous good experience to purchase another used car. Needing a reliable and spacious family vehicle, we purchased a Peugeot 3008. Unfortunately, our experience since then has been extremely disappointing. In just four months of ownership, the vehicle has been returned to Coopers for repairs on five separate occasions, with the current fault still unresolved. Most concerning was a failed repair that resulted in the vehicle breaking down and leaving my heavily pregnant partner stranded on the side of a major carriageway. After Coopers had the vehicle for approximately one month, we attempted to formally reject it due to ongoing issues. Despite multiple emails, we received no response until we sent a further message highlighting that the legal 14-day response period had been exceeded. Rather than contacting us to discuss the matter, Coopers returned the vehicle by abandoning it on our street, posting the keys through our door and leaving without notice or communication. We now find ourselves at a complete impasse: in possession of an unreliable vehicle that we no longer feel safe using for our family, and dealing with a company whose owner and co-owner appear unwilling to engage or take responsibility. The only option being implied is to pursue the matter through small claims court. This is a deeply disappointing outcome with a company we trusted and returned to for multiple purchases. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we can no longer recommend Coopers.
