Craig and his team were very helpful with the purchase of the car. I came and test drove the car on a weekend when they weren't even open so were very accommodating. I pointed out a few issues which Craig has fixed including putting 1 year MOT on the car. I can't fault the service I've received the CJ Autos. **Edit ** So unfortunately I've had to edit my review as the aftersales service wasn't what I'd hoped. I'm sure there will be comments saying that this is perfectly normal for a car of this age. Comments were made about reimbursement but I was basically told the costs were wrong. So after my drive home from the garage (120 miles) I contacted the garage and stated that there was vibration in the steering (most likely wheel balancing), the airbag light is on intermittently, and a knock was coming from the front. After investigating the knock my local garage (also a friend so not ripping me off) said I need to get a new lower arm for the knock at the front (these ideally need to be done in pairs) and the D bushes for the front and rear. Total cost of parts was \xa3350 (from ICP so not an expensive place) obviously this is plus fitting, CJ said this could be done much cheaper but didn't offer to pay anything. The airbag light is intermittent so difficult to diagnose. They offered to pay to have it diagnosed but after the last email I've not heard anything back. The car vibrated around 70 (needed 4 wheel tracking and balancing). First time I drove it in the rain it was aquaplaning all over the place. The fitted tyres were very much budget ones so I spent \xa3600 for 4 wheel tracking and tyres. After a couple of days of the car being in the rain I noticed that it was leaking quite badly in the boot, I've spent \xa3250+ trying to resolve this at a local body shop (also a friend so not being ripped off) I'm not sure if this is resolved yet but very unexpected. (Checked after the recent rain and it still leaks) In addition to this, the clutch feels like it's going to need replacing in the very not so distant future. All in all I'm a bit disappointed by the aftersales support especially as a few items were reported on the first day I picked up the car.
After being totally ripped off by a dealership in Wales, i was extremely apprehensive about buying a car from another dealership but had no choice as the vehicle I was sold in Wales wasn’t really fit to be on the road. After looking through many different companies with cars for sale but all had some good reviews but plenty of bad ones what with pushy reps and bad after sales experiences. I eventually saw a car that i thought i would like to have a look at being sold by CJ Autos but was still very apprehensive. I was offered as much time as I like to inspect the vehicle and was even told by Craig the owner of CJ Autos there was a job that needed doing and he was just waiting on the part. He was also prepared to take in the car that I was sold in Wales at a Respectable price while taking to consideration the work that would have to be carried out on it before he would be prepared to resell it. We came to an amicable transaction and I took away the car he sold me on the understanding that I would return it when the part was available to fix a minor fault. Whilst having the car for a few days i noticed a couple of issues that I put down to the fact that the car is 16 years old. When I mentioned them in conversation while arranging a date for the car to be returned to fix the original fault Craig‘s attitude was with an apology while assuring me that even though it’s not technically covered by the warranty we have no problem in resolving these issues. Also as the vehicle will take a little longer to fix than expected i was given a courtesy car. Unfortunately I had a minor accident being totally my fault. When I reported this i was told by Craig he would take complete charge of this matter and deal with it at no expense to myself. I now have a car that I am extremely pleased with and in a way C J Autos has restored my faith in car dealers knowing that not all of them are out to make a killing! Some of them are honest people trying to make a honest living. Personality If any of my friends or family are looking to purchase a secondhand car I would certainly be directing them towards Cj Autos As they have stood by their vehicles, offered an excellent service and gone out of their way to ensure an excellent after sales service. I would like to add a post script to my review. The other day, the 4 way indicators came on on my car And wouldn’t go off. I contacted Cj Autos Who quickly responded Saying that it is a possibility That the S A M Module located in the boot Could be at fault due to the ongoing Rain as it can be prone to the damp getting at it. Once again, their attitude was Feel free to either return it to us and we will investigate the problem Or take it to a local auto electrical Garage and see what they have to say. Rather than drive the car across the other side of the city with the four-way indicator Flashing I decided to drop it into a local electrical company. Two hours later They’ll fix the problem and it was the S A M Module. As this wasn’t a fault caused at the point of sale and was put down by the electrical garage Caused by damp due to all the rain that we’ve had of late. I felt CJ Autos would be quite right In refusing to pay for this! To the contrary they offered no argument and were prepared to pay the bill. As I’ve had such a good Service from them I paid half of the bill. My reason being I felt this problem was arguably beyond there Warranty obligations But We’re prepared to pay the bill regardless.

I offered \xa3545 less than the advertised price of \xa34,995 on a car listed by CJ Autos Bristol after checking the vehicle’s MOT history online and noting that a couple of jobs were required. The offer was declined, which is absolutely fine. However, the response I received from Craig Dowding was unnecessarily sarcastic and unprofessional, and it raised concerns about his attitude and credibility. His reply was: “lol, so you want \xa3800 off for a ball joint dust cover and some rear discs that are only an advisory, where do you get your repairs done Harrods? We are talking about the same 13-year-old, 130,000-mile car aren’t we?” The tone of the response reflected poorly on customer service and professionalism. **MY REPLY** You’re just making it worse for yourself. This is not an isolated incident. I’ve read how you treated the young couple who came in, and frankly this interaction fits the same pattern. Taken together, your other negative reviews, mine, and your reply make the red flags impossible to ignore — especially when you followed it up via email with the very intimidating “I have your details \U0001f609”. I was, of course, quivering in my boots. You’re an embarrassment to the AA endorsement you so proudly tout, Craig. I’ll be passing all of this information on to them, and I fully expect the AA to banish you from representing their brand once they review your conduct.
