Purchased a transit custom from Brownlow's cars on the Internet and got it delivered to my address in Scotland. From the moment I sent the original enquiry they made me feel at ease about buying something online that I hadn't seen in person. Terry was very professional and went above and beyond to get my new van to me despite the distance involved. The van had a fresh mot before being delivered and the van is immaculate. Very happy with the service I received and If you are looking for a top class vehicle then I highly recommend this garage. Thanks again Terry
Here is a polished, clear version of your review, ready to post: AVOID THIS GARAGE. DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM HERE. To be honest, you would think the people running this place have never run a business before. I bought a van from them; it looked great on the outside, and the staff were very friendly—right up until the moment I signed the papers. As soon as you go back to report a problem, the attitude changes completely and they just give you excuses. The list of issues: 1. Side lights: Reported they weren't working before I bought it. They said they would fix them, but they never did. 2. Roof: The roof on the Luton van was loose. I ended up fixing that myself. 3. Timing Belt: About 4 weeks later, the van broke down. They claimed the timing belt had been changed, and it was still under the 3-month warranty. Despite this, they still charged me \xa32,500 to fix it. 4. Mechanical Failures: The starter motor broke. They did the front brakes but said the back ones needed replacing. That’s when they also told me the rear shock absorbers needed changing too. 5. Engine Recall: I took it to a Citro\xebn dealership because of a safety recall. They did a report and found the engine needs replacing. The quote? \xa314,000. And it doesn't stop there... They told me the van came with 3 months road tax and that they would send off for the logbook. I drove it for 3 months while they kept saying "it takes time". When I checked with the DVLA, there was no tax and no logbook registered. I was driving illegally! When I confronted them, it was a nightmare. They tried to tell me to go to the post office and sort it myself. I refused, so eventually, they sorted the logbook—but then had the cheek to tell me I had to pay half the road tax myself! Summary: Very friendly sales patter, but shocking service and vehicles that are clearly not roadworthy or correctly registered once you hand over the cash.
Purchased an Evoque in May 2025. Didn’t haggle. Perfect customer. Gave them too much trust and was taken advantage of. Lesson learnt. Terrible aftercare and a really poor overall experience. It took a full month after purchase just to get the car released to me. When I finally collected it, despite being told it came with an “advisory-free MOT” it was genuinely dangerous to drive. The car grinded badly on every turn and felt completely unsafe. I had to return it immediately due to a serious rear diff issue. The rear diff was not working so the back wheels were just grinding (how did that get through an MOT \U0001f926‍♂️). Absolutely shocking to even let me drive it away! I was told the brakes had been done, yet within weeks of actually getting the car the brake pad warning light came on. Again, this and the rear diff raises serious questions about how genuine the advisory free MOT and pre delivery checks actually were. No legitimate garage would have signed that car off in the condition it arrived in especially with no advisory’s as again, three months later the front brakes went to steel. Pending the forthcoming MOT I will be raising it to the ombudsman if anything untoward comes up. They provided a certificate saying timing belt changed. The car has a chain \U0001f926‍♂️ Since then, the car has developed multiple other faults, including an EGR issue, a leaking roof, and a boot that keeps failing. To make matters worse, when I collected the car after the reluctant repairs of the rear diff and the brakes, , the interior was left in an absolutely filthy condition, covered in mud, despite being spotless when I dropped it off. I think this was done in pure spite. The communication and aftercare were shocking from start to finish. I was in hospital following an injury and my family describe being sworn at, phone out down on them and blatant rudeness and abusive language when they were calling on my behalf. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to avoid this dealership.
