We were seriously considering buying a Volvo EX40 and decided to book the 48-hour test drive through Arnold Clark VOLVO in Glasgow about two weeks in advance. According to their website, this extended test drive is clearly available from Tuesday to Thursday. However, just one day before the scheduled start, we were contacted and told the car would not be available until Wednesday because the manager had taken it on holiday and hadn’t returned yet. This is extremely unprofessional and honestly quite shocking. If you advertise availability from Tuesday, then the car should actually be available from Tuesday—not dependent on whether a staff member comes back from holiday. It shows a complete lack of organisation and respect for customers’ time. We arranged our plans based on the confirmed booking, only to have it changed at the last minute for such a reason. For a brand and dealership that present themselves as premium, this kind of service is simply unacceptable.
We was looking to get the new kia sportage at the arnold clark branch in preston and we saw a byd seal u dm-i and the salesperson Sam Thomas was very kind and professional to show us the car and the features and benefits of the car and it knocked the kia sportage out hand down the missus fell in love with the car immediately and even though we still had our kia sportage but decided to take out an early termination contract so we could get the new car Sam was very patient with us and worked closely with us and wasn't pushy to get the car out of their showroom When we finally came to pick the car he was still as patient as the first time we visited the showroom after the handover for the car he came into the car and showed us a few things about the car and said if we need any help or advice we shouldn't hesitate to ring him
The communication wasn’t clear and the sales rep (james ward) wasn’t being very clear with the terms and conditions. Very cryptic and miscommunication took me days to actually get him over the phone. He wasn’t very clear in terms of what the next steps are when I would get the car what all I do I need to take care of very unprofessional Service when I complained he didn’t let me speak with the manager and told me that I had to speak with him eventually I got another sales rep and find the call delivered but it took me two weeks actually get a car unfortunately has been a bad experience. I don’t think after this contract wraps up I will be dealing with your firm any longer it’s been a bad experience to see the least.
Thank you for your response. I have already contacted both the Chesterfield branch and Head Office directly, including submitting a formal rejection and complaint, which have not yet been acknowledged. I look forward to being contacted by your Customer Services team with a full response and resolution to the issues raised, including the financial loss I have incurred. Kind regard
