2010 (10) - 1.6 16V Design MPV 5dr Petrol Manual Euro 4 (115 ps)
Vauxhall provided a variety of engine options – including both petrols and diesels – along with standard front-wheel drive.
The Vauxhall Zafira provides a versatile and roomy cabin that can hold up to seven passengers and is only rivalled by larger SUVs for interior space.
The Vauxhall Zafira arrived in the UK back in 1999. This MPV was sold through to 2018, when it was in its third generation. While all of the generations contain the same basic design principles, Vauxhall updated the model regularly to keep it relevant and modern, with improved styling and technology. Over the generations, the Zafira has been offered in a range of powertrains offering flexibility for different driver's needs.
The final Zafira, replaced by the Vivaro Life in 2019, was renamed the Zafira Tourer and it shared a platform with the Astra. The exterior design was inspired by the Insignia, showcasing swept-back headlamps and boomerang-type headlights. The narrow grille revealed a chrome bar, and raked A-pillars were matched with a B-pillar that formed a triangle for a side-front window.
The cabin still offered room for seven, with tall seats for the largest passengers. A high-tech infotainment system was added and the instrument cluster closely resembled the one found in other Vauxhall models of the time.
Many drivers prefer the efficiency of the 1.6-litre diesel-powered engine that makes 132bhp. It can hit 60mph in 10.2 seconds and is the most economical of the lineup with a rating of 62.8mpg.
Drivers can buy upgraded styles with a panoramic sunroof, bringing more sunlight into the cabin. They can also enjoy lounge seats for more comfort or a model with a satnav system.
Even several years after its initial release, the Zafira continues to remain competitive even though the market has gotten more crowded. The seats are comfortable and there are various high-tech features, ensuring a relaxing family drive.
When the Vauxhall Zafira was discontinued, there were no hybrid powertrains in the lineup.
There are some examples of a Zafira automatic available on the used market. However, most used models feature either a five- or six-speed manual transmission.
Throughout its production, the Vauxhall Zafira only came as a front-wheel drive model. Four-wheel drive was never offered, but also wasn't needed for this type of family vehicle.
