The Toyota Auris is available as either a hatchback or the Touring Sports estate, both offering modern Toyota styling and a spacious interior. It has a clean design with stylish, narrow headlights and a slightly sporty rear that contributes to its overall appeal.
A big part of the appeal of the Toyota Auris is its comfort, with suspension that rides over bumps with little fuss, and engines which are very economical. The majority of models are hybrids, using the same technology as the larger Prius, which means you can drive them on short distances in electric mode. Petrol and diesel versions are also available and all cope easily with daily city chores such as crawling traffic and tight parking. The Auris is also good at long distance motorway cruising and the estate can be used for towing.
The Toyota Auris has a spacious interior with lots of room for up to five adults to sit in comfort. The boot has a reasonable capacity and can accommodate most daily items or holiday luggage with ease, even more so in the estate. Most models are well-equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system, climate control and remote controls on the steering wheel. These are all contained in a well-designed interior that provides a great level of comfort.
A used Toyota Auris is comparable to most of its rivals when it comes to purchase price. All models are economical with the hybrid being the best. Insurance and road tax costs are competitive, while Toyota’s great reputation for reliability contributes to relatively low maintenance costs. Safety is also good with a maximum five stars from Euro NCAP.
Larger than the Toyota Yaris, the Auris was the company’s solution for a stylish and practical family hatchback. It provides good, relaxing motoring and features much of the technology you will find in mainstream rivals like the Ford Focus and Honda Civic. Where it really stands out from the crowd is with the popular Auris hybrid and its low emissions and fuel consumption.
The Auris looks smart and modern with a good interior and lots of equipment. Toyota’s hybrid technology is its star feature delivering excellent fuel consumption and low emissions.
Like all Toyotas, the Auris has a great reputation for reliability.
From the purchase price to daily running costs, the Auris is not an expensive car to run and the popular hybrid is impressively light on fuel.
Both the five-door hatchback and Touring Sports estate are practical, everyday cars that tick a lot of boxes when it comes to usefulness.
The Toyota Auris delivers a similar experience to its rivals when it comes to the drive and general feel, and it adds a lot in terms of comfort, value for money and economical motoring.
