If you want a used car that’s stylish, easy to live with and affordable to run, a Renault could be just what you’re looking for. There are lots of used Renaults to choose from, whether you want an affordable hatchback, a family-friendly SUV or a pure-electric car.

Renault is known for its fuel-efficient petrol and diesel engines, but many of its latest cars are offered with hybrid or plug-in hybrid power that could give you even lower running costs.

Which used Renault cars are for sale?

There’s a wide range of used Renault cars available, ranging from compact hatchbacks to seven-seat SUVs and MPVs.

The Clio is one of Renault’s most popular cars, thanks to its chic styling, affordable prices and low ownership costs. Next up is the Megane, which is available as a five-door hatchback or practical estate.

Renault’s range of SUVs stretches from the compact Captur to the large Koleos, with the Kadjar, Arkana and Austral in the middle. If you’re after something that’s even more family-friendly, with seven seats and a flexible interior, take a look at the Grand Scenic MPV.

Are there any hybrid or electric Renault models?

You’ll find a number of used Renault hybrid or electric cars to choose from. Although production of the pure-electric Renault Zoe stopped in March 2024, its popularity over 11 years means there are lots of used Zoe cars available. The other pure-electric Renault is the Megane E-Tech.

E-Tech is Renault’s name for a range of hybrid, plug-in hybrid and pure-electric cars. The Megane and Captur are available as plug-in hybrids, while the Clio, Captur, Arkana and Austral are available as full hybrids, also known ‘self-charging’ hybrids.

Renault Clio

The Renault Clio is a small hatchback that gives you a choice of petrol, diesel or hybrid power, each one offering low running costs. It’s good value, too, with many models including lots of features as standard. It’s also more comfortable and more spacious than many of its rivals.

Renault Megane 

From 2016 until 2022, the Renault Megane was available as a practical and spacious five-door hatchback and estate with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid power. Today, it’s available only as the pure-electric Megane E-Tech, which offers up to 280 miles of battery range, according to official figures.

Renault Captur 

The Renault Captur is a compact SUV that offers more interior space than you find in many of its rivals, along with a range of fuel-efficient engines. These include petrol, diesel, full hybrid and plug-in hybrid power.

Renault Zoe

The Renault Zoe is one of the most popular pure-electric cars, with prices to suit all budgets. Cars built after an update in 2019 can comfortably travel more than 200 miles when fully charged, but even early models should be able to tackle most daily commutes.

Renault Kadjar 

The Renault Kadjar is a mid-size family SUV with seating for five and a large boot. A range of fuel-efficient petrol and diesel engines give you low running costs, with all versions having lots of equipment as standard.

Which Renault models are SUVs?

The Renault SUVs models are the Captur, Arkana, Kadjar, Austral and Koleos.

The Captur is a compact SUV based on the Clio and is a rival to cars such as the Nissan Juke, Peugeot 2008 and Volkswagen T-Cross. The Arkana is a bit larger than the Captur and features coupe-like styling.

Next up is the Kadjar, which was available to buy new from 2015 until 2022, when it was replaced by the Austral. Rivals for these SUVs include the Nissan Qashqai, Kia Sorento and Hyundai Tucson.

Finally, the Renault Koleos is a five-seat SUV with a spacious interior and a large boot.
