The Kia Pro Ceed isn't something you give to charity, rather it's a sporty 3 door hatchback that looks fantastic, drives well and offers a fantastically reliable approach to motoring. Style is clearly a defining factor of this car, and the South Korean company has really nailed it, but the overall on road experience is good as well. Plus you get a big warranty. Interested?
Released in 2008, the ProCeed is excellent value for money on the whole. Kia has built a reputation of offering industry leading build quality, and it's very evident on this car. Even the smallest details haven't been overlooked, and you get the impression it'll last a fair old while. With a front wheel drive layout and several different engines to choose from, it's the complete package in the small car class.
There's no doubt that the exterior is bold and beautiful in terms of design. The sharp angles, brilliant lines and array of curves add up to produce something spectacular to behold. By far the best thing about the Pro Cee'dis the front grille which has a lovely arrogance to it, which is nice to see on a Kia. The inside might not be as sporty, but it is well thought out, functional and comfy nonetheless. You get a massive amount of kit that would put any big name brand to shame, and the boot is very competitive in size too. The rear seats are probably best used for children, but overall there's quite a bit of cabin space despite the small size.
Unfortunately the Kia isn't as performance based as the outlandish designs demand, and really it's rather calm. Easy to control and not particularly exciting, you do find a good heap of grip in the corners thanks to the front wheel drive setup, and around town it's particularly nippy. More of a relaxing cruiser than a mental hot hatchback, the 1.4 and 1.6 litre petrol engines are somewhat sprightly but slightly subdued; the 2.0 litre diesel can redeem itself though.
It's a reasonably priced car all around actually, and buying second hand can get you an even better deal. With literally thousands of different cars for sale available at drastically discounted prices, Cazoo is head and shoulders above most other pre owned auto websites. Pay less and get more with a used Kia Pro Ceed.
Ultimately the Kia is a beautiful car to behold that doesn't deliver a driving experience comparable to the massively sporty looks. It's still lively however, but not as crazy as most people would expect. Poised, comfortable and economical, it's a great way to get around, and will certainly turn some heads. A wonderful 3 door hatchback with a cheeky character.
