The Elan Plus 2 was the Lotus for the family man with seating for four and luxury appointments such as walnut dash and electric windows. This 1972 car was fully rebuilt by Spyder cars in 2008 to a customers exacting specification with full Spyder chassis, 2.0 Twin Cam Ford Zetec engine (with Ported Head, R265 Cams, Balanced Crank, Jenvey Throttle Bodies, Emerald 3D ECU) and 5 speed gearbox. Further improvements include adjustable ProTech coil over suspension, Limited Slip Differential, electric pop up headlights with Xenon conversion, Mazda MX5 front seats trimmed in leather and remote central locking. The end result is a superb package that offers modern car reliability with classic Lotus style and handling. With 190 BHP on tap and weighing just 850KG if this doesn't put a smile on your face then nothing will!! Since its build the owner has covered over 62,000 miles in the car. There is a lever arch file full of maintenance records along with the original order from Spyder Engineering (totalling over £35k) specs for service and maintenance items. The ECU is tuneable with the supplied lead and software. Within the last year the car has had a full glass out repaint as well as rechrome and is now in show quality condition.
