Camberley2000 Mitsubishi Evo VI Tommi Makinen Edition RSLaunched at the height of rally fever in the late 1990s, Mitsubishi was enjoying huge global success with the Lancer Evolution range. Such was the demand that reportedly over 6,000 Evolution IV models were sold within the first three days of launch. Mitsubishis dominance in rallying was cemented in 1996 when Finnish driver Tommi Makinen secured the brands first World Rally Championship Drivers Title.Following this success, Mitsubishi introduced the Lancer Evolution VI and, in the latter half of 1999, released a special edition to celebrate Makinens remarkable achievement of four consecutive WRC Drivers Championships from 19961999 the Evo VI Tommi Makinen Edition (TME). Already a technological tour de force, the TME benefitted from a number of performance upgrades including a fasterspooling titanium turbocharger, revised and lowered suspension, quicker steering, an upgraded exhaust system, a recalibrated ECU and strengthened transfer case internals. A redesigned front bumper also improved cooling and aerodynamic efficiency.Offered for sale is a highly original Mitsubishi Evo VI Tommi Makinen RS, one of approximately 190 examples produced worldwide. This is a 2000 model year vehicle that was imported into the UK in 2017 by Guy Francis Specialist Cars, with the current owner being the first UK keeper.Finished in Scotia White with Black and Blue Mesh Cloth RS Seats with a Black Leather Momo Steering Wheel. The car remains in largely original specification, with the only modification being a Blitz Nur Spec catback exhaust system. (Original Exhaust is Available)It is currently fitted with 17inch WRC Tarmac Evo wheels (Original Wheels Available).The vehicle has been serviced annually by HBH Automotive and has an MOT.
