By the late sixties, it was clear that MG had a great car with the MG B but many owners were requesting more power and by 1967 the MG C was conceived and muted to be the replacement for the historic Healey 3000!However, the press and indeed customers were not impressed with early reports of a heavy frontend provoking understeer and this did irrevocable damage to the cars desirability and after only two years in production, the project was killed off.So today with only 4000 coupes built, the MG C has become a soughtafter rarity.This stunning example was built for the UK market and registered in 1968 and finished in Tartan red.An extensive restoration was completed in 2016 to a very high standard utilising the original bodyshell which was dry stripped by a specialt then carefully rust inhibited, new panels from MG Motorsport were then utilised and the body carefully rebuilt.The remit was for an upgraded high performance version of the MG C GT and work carried out utilising some of the best specialists in the industry, work included:Ivor Searle rebuilt the engine including lightened and balanced flywheel, Billet high lift cam, and unleaded headQuaife ATB limited slip differential123 electronic ignitionNew Blockley tyresHardy Engineering rebuilt gearbox, heavyduty clutch and overdriveMG Motorsport upgraded brakes and front suspension and steeringFrontline 5 link suspension, electric windows, Alcantara headlining, heated front screen, dynamat insulationNew wiring loom, electronic ignition, electric fan, etc.There is a good history file with invoices totalling over £30000 for the work carried out.This is a real wolf in sheep clothing and surprises other road users with its performance, handling is so much improved and longlegged cruising any journey can be undertaken without stress around 4000 rpm at 100 mph in overdrive top!Supplied fully inspected, serviced with 12 months warranty.
