Launched in 1994, the 993 Series marked the end of aircooled 911 production and Porsches engineers redesigned their standardbearing model from the ground up, to such an extent that only around 20% of its parts were carried over from the previous generation. For the first time, all models were offered with either a 6speed manual transmission or a 4speed Tiptronic gearbox for those who preferred two pedals. The 1996 model year marked the introduction of the Varioram induction system to the Porsche 911 Carrera range. Designed to improve torque delivery and drivability across the rev range, Varioram technology enhanced the performance characteristics of the aircooled flatsix engine while retaining the traditional mechanical feel that defines the era.The CarThis beautiful fourwheel drive 911 Carrera 4 coup was supplied new by Porsche dealer Chapel Gate of Dorset and first registered on 1st November 1995.
