The Bentley Continental R represents one of the most significant grand touring cars of the modern Bentley era. Handbuilt at the historic factory in Crewe, the Continental R was the first Bentley since the 1960s to feature a body not shared with RollsRoyce, signalling a return to a more independent and performancefocused identity for the brand. Under the long, sculpted bonnet sits Bentleys legendary 6.75litre turbocharged V8 engine, paired with a smooth fourspeed automatic transmission. The powerplant produced around 385 bhp and immense torque, delivering effortless acceleration despite the cars substantial weight. The Continental R could accelerate from 060 mph in about six secondsremarkable for a luxury coupe of its size and refinement. The ride is serene and composed, yet there is unmistakable power in reserve at any speed. Visually, the Continental R blends traditional Bentley cues with a more muscular, modern stance. The upright chrome grille, quad round headlamps, and broad rear haunches create a commanding road presence. The pillarless coupe design adds elegance, while subtle aerodynamic shaping improves highspeed stability. Inside, craftsmanship defines the experience. The cabin is lined with rich Connolly leather, deep Wilton carpeting, and polished walnut veneer, all meticulously fitted by hand. Every switch and dial has a solid, mechanical feel, reflecting an era when luxury meant tangible quality and enduring materials.Originally registered on 1st January 1996, this Bentley presents really well in the great colour combination of dark metallic blue with light grey interior piped in blue. The original service book is present and has 17 stamps, confirming this to be a wellcaredfor example. The interior of a Continental R is an area of beauty, with ample leather and copious amounts of burr walnut. Described by our vendor as driving with no known faults, this Bentley is a great opportunity to purchase one of the finest designs to come out of Crewe, and stands as a symbol of 1990s British automotive opulence; powerful, exclusive, and unapologetically grand.
