Iver0 Previous Owners, This Lot will be sold at auction at Symphony of Spring; Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 7th March. Rare Special Edition modelExcellent paintworkThe Dodge Charger is the epitome of the American muscle car, big, V8 powered and not for the fainthearted. First shown as a concept car in 1964 there have been over eight generations since it went into production in 1966. For those of a certain age it was the Dukes of Hazzard TV series that made the Charger the poster car for a generation, and more recently the Fast and Furious franchise has kept the Charger at the forefront of popular car culture. This 1972 example was sold to its first owner Larry Heafner on 10th May of that year by City Dodge, North Carolina. Powered by the 318 cc (5.2 litre) V8 through the Torqueflight automatic three speed transmission, this Special Edition model has the Brougham spec. This gives the Charger a heightened sense of luxury with vinyl roof, air conditioning, the iconic concealed headlights, tinted windows, dual racing mirrors, rally style instruments, luxury high backed seats and the wider C pillars resulting in tiny quart lights. The black interior is a mix of cloth and vinyl with wood inserts and Brougham badging. The highquality paint finish is in its original black which contrasts superbly with the desirable polished American Racing alloy wheels. The original wheels with Goodyear tyres are also included with the car. The chromework is sound and the car is extremely clean and tidy underneath. Fitted with a new stainlesssteel exhaust, new fuel tank and it has also benefitted from having had the suspension overhauled. The original auto wallet that accompanies the car contains the original owners handbook, bill of sale and a collection of charming early 1970s road maps of North Carolina, even the original eight track remains. A number of invoices are included, the most notable being for a gearbox service in 2007, as well as the V5C registration document. This is a fantastic sounding machine that looks purposeful in its blackonblack colour combination, and sure to attract admiration wherever it goes. Consigned by Will Penrose
