Iver2 Previous Owners, This Lot will be sold at auction at Symphony of Spring; Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 7th March. Comes with a hardtopLow mileage reflected in the conditionThe MG TF is a distinctive British roadster that blends classic sportscar spirit with modern engineering. As the evolution of the earlier MG F, the TF refined the formula with sharper styling, improved suspension, and a more engaging driving experience. Its compact proportions, low stance, and midengine layout give it the unmistakable character of a traditional twoseat convertible built purely for driving enjoyment. One of the most notable features of the MG TF is its midmounted engine, which helps deliver excellent balance and responsive handling. Most models came equipped with a 1.6 or 1.8 litre fourcylinder engine, with the more powerful variants such as the 135 and 160 offering lively performance for a lightweight car. Unlike its predecessors hydragas suspension, the TF adopted a conventional coilspring setup, improving reliability and delivering more precise cornering. The steering is direct, and the car feels nimble on winding roads, making it especially enjoyable on country lanes or coastal drives. Inside, the cabin is simple and driverfocused, with supportive seats and clear instrumentation. While interior materials reflect its modest price point, the overall layout emphasises the essentials of sportscar driving.Originally registered on 18th February 2005, this MG TF presents exceedingly well. The metallic red coachwork is in very good condition as is the black interior. The condition is certainly commensurate with such a low mileage example. These are great cars to drive and were a credit to the design team at MG. The 1796cc engine is responsive and the gearbox operates as it should. The headgasket has been changed for the later type, along with the water pump. Supplied with a V5 registration document, a history folder confirming the low mileage of 26,904 and a current MoT test certificate valid until 29th March 2026, along with a hardtop enabling more enjoyable motoring in inclement weather. Today, the MG TF remains an affordable entry into midengine motoring. Its blend of style, balance, and classic British charm continues to appeal to enthusiasts seeking fun and character over outright refinement. Consigned by Stewart Banks.
