Car location
IverThis Lot will be sold at auction at Symphony of Spring; Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 7th March. Low warranted mileage, driven less than 4,000 miles since 2019Wellpresented example in excellent conditionFrom a private collectionThe Porsche 911 first broke cover in 1963, while early examples were relatively slow and fragile and later cars blisteringly fast and almost indestructible, many enthusiasts regard the 3.0 litre 911 Super Carrera (SC), produced between 1978 and 1983, as the purest expression of the breed. It strikes an enviable balance between classic 911 aesthetics, strong performance and notably improved reliability. The SC also dispels the models longstanding Widow Maker reputation. Although its 3.0 litre, aircooled, flatsix aluminium engine sits characteristically behind the rear axle line, the handling is surprisingly benign and confidenceinspiring. Performance remains impressive with 060mph arriving in just over six seconds and a top speed approaching 150mph. Relatively lightweight by contemporary standards, the SC employs delicately proportioned front tyres for superb balance and steering feel, complemented by vented disc brakes all round to deliver assured stopping power. The car has been maintained by Porsche main dealers and respected marque specialists throughout the past four decades. A gentleman based in the Midlands acquired the car in October 1997 and retained ownership until 2019. Regrettably, due to terminal illness in later years, the car was largely stored in his garage and covered very few miles during this period. In 2019, the car was sold to a renowned Porsche specialist in the Midlands for inclusion in his private collection. Upon acquisition, the car underwent recommissioning and maintenance, including replacement front and rear brake pads, brake hoses, all filters, spark plugs, wiper blades, oil, and associated service items. The car then formed part of a private collection of over 40 vehicles and was used sparingly. In 2023, it was sold to a friend of the specialist, the current owner, and has continued to be driven modestly. Since 2019, the car has covered just 3,865 miles. The car visited Porsche Centre Wolverhampton in May 2023 for an oil service, belts and gasket replacement. We are assured that the car drives as well as it looks and remains a lowmileage, highly usable example of the classic 911 ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian. The car is offered with a comprehensive history file, including invoices, previous MoT test certificates, the original book pack and wallet, service book, and keys. Consigned by Baljit Singh.
