IverThis Lot will be sold at auction at Symphony of Spring; Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 7th March. Classic colour combination. Recent MoT test certificate. That Jaguar's XJS will become a 'bona fide' classic is beyond doubt. Launched in 1975, its twentyoneyear production life was a testimony to the excellence of its basic designand represents a fascinating chapter in British grand touring history, blending elegance, performance, and innovation. Introduced in the early 1980s, the HE designation stood for High Efficiency, referring to Jaguars redesigned V12 cylinder heads. This improved combustion efficiency, delivering more power while significantly reducing fuel consumption, an important achievement in the postfuel crisis era. Visually, the XJS HE retained the long bonnet, sweeping roofline, and distinctive flying buttresses that set it apart from its predecessor, the EType. While controversial at first, the design aged gracefully and came to define Jaguar luxury in the 1980s. Inside, the car offered a refined cabin with rich wood veneers, supple leather, and a quiet, comfortable ride suited to longdistance cruising. On the road, the XJS HE was less a raw sportscar and more a refined grand tourerThis Jaguar XJSC HE was first registered on 1st September 1985. The previous owner purchased the car in 2020 and in his ownership, he had work carried out on the brakes, suspension and had the petrol tank refurbished. Our vendor acquired the car last year with a view to having some minor body repairs carried out and to that end for a new MoT he had the nearside rear suspension mounting repaired and outer sill replaced. Finished in silver with the classic black leather interior and black detachable roof sections which are in very good condition and indicates the mileage of 35,400 miles could be correct. Our vendor is having to part with this big cat due to poor health. Supplied with a V5 registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in November 2026 and a file containing service history and old MoT test certificates. Today, the Jaguar XJS HE is appreciated as a stylish, charismatic classic that showcases Jaguars commitment to innovation and luxury. Consigned by John Tomlin
